Turkish Air Defence Programs

I class frigates will only have ESSM. Because only national missiles will be used in MDAS system. MDAS will be taken into inventory together with TF-2000.

Speaking about İsmail Demir İ class and Milli VLS integration, he said exactly
"For the next ship or the last 3 remaining ships + TF-2000, we prefer to have a national air defense system."

No need to grouse around on everything, HISAR project started 2007.

Then why have have long range air defence tender for two decades, for a stop gap solution at best, if HISAR-O is supposed to go into production in 2023. Maybe someone can explain, because I'm out of the loop.

He probably meant the concept study and such. Like TEI GM explained we needed the groundwork for many of our current projects.

Is there any worth plucking out some of the 57E6-E anti-air missiles and copying it ?

We need them in Libya, Bye Migs!
Someone please explain, if they will be able to deter Hafters planes. Because if Hisar-O is being used it has a range/altitude of 15km according to wikipedia. The SU-24 has a service ceiling of 11km, so should be ok but the MIG-29 has a service ceiling of 18km so, most likely out of range. Yes/no?

Service ceiling of 18 km is too high for precision bombing in a Mig-29. For it to be a threat to ground forces is has to come low enough for a MANPAD to take it down, let alone an advanced SAM
