Cancellation of S-400 is not on agenda in this phase. PAC-3 must be the bargain tool of US for F-35 delivery. It seems Turkey accepts PAC missiles (If accepts) not to danger delivery of F-35.

To be honest I have always been skeptical of the S-400 deal (and still am). The system is not interoperable with none of Turkey’s infrastructure (without which it is pretty much useless), and it is not battle tested.
I think this deal is a bargaining chip first and an actual acquisition second. Meaning that Turkey will use this to get a better deal from the US until the last moment and only buy it if it is left with no other choice.

I know no one here will agree with me. And i know that it is a bit of a stretch. Allegedly a down payment has been made and manufacturing has already started. But something doesnt add up.

That being said the patriot offer will have to be approved by the senate before Turkey takes it seriously and before the Contract negotiations are started.. Only time will tell how it goes

It sounds too expensive in my ears.

We don't have the same option like Polen does. From what I understand the S400 would be a stand alone system. I do not doubt that our defense industry would find a decent use for it. battle tested or not. The specs and range in itself would work as an early warning system.

I have no doubt that Russian missile tech is good. I just hope we can use S400 to improve our own Hisar wastly.

Guys do not jump to conclusions so easily. First of all S 400 deal is done and just matter of delivery.
Long Range Air Defense for Turkey must be multilayered anyway. S 400 will be delivered in 7 months and then they will be used to protect strategic places like Nuclear Power stations. When Patriots will be delivered in unknown and as you may know there are talks with Europeans and local companies working on creation of National Long Range Defense System. Secondly, it is a speculative matter that 'Turkey Lovers' in the US are going to explore in multiple ways to delay or even cancel, so no real reason to cancel delivery and opportunity to work with Russians on other projects.
PS: Turkish government understands if they cancel S 400 the will lose trust from Russian side forever.
So relax and be happy

We just started to launch search gas oil reserves in the Eastern Mediterranean ,,,,
sooner or later we will find gas and oil fields between Turkish Republic of Northen Cyprus and Mersin-Iskenderun

also I remind you Italian ENI found gas reserves in block 3
and block 3 is also belong to Turkish Republic of Northen Cyprus and Turkish Frigates blocked Italian drillship in block 3

American-Israeli companies found gas reserves in block12 .... and half of block12 is belong to Turkish Republic of Northen Cyprus

only block 10 and 11 are belong to Greek Capriots ,, rest of them are belong to also Turkish Republic of Northen Cyprus

Turkey has developed 280+ km Ballistic Missiles to destroy Greek S300s also 220+ km ATMACA missile will have land attack capability

also Turkey has developed SOM air launched Cruise Missile to attack Greek S300s from 250+ km away ..( and Turkey starts to produce extra 415 SOM Cruise Missiles )
so a few S300 batterries can not do anything to Turkish F16s .. even Greek S300s are only for training

but if Turkey want , S400s will be located in Aegean region in a potential conflict between Greece and Turkey
