Turkish Labor and Social Security Minister Faruk Celik on Friday met with his Afghan counterpart Amena Afzali on the sidelines of a meeting of Labor Ministers of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Baku, Azerbaijan
BAKU (AA) - Speaking while meeting Afzali, Faruk Celik underlined that Turkey would continue to support Afghanistan.
We will continue to support our friend and brotherly country Afghanistan, Celik stressed.
"Afghanistan is one of the countries where the Turkish International Cooperation Agency (TIKA) is most busy in. There are projects being implemented by the Presidency of Overseas Turks and Relative Communities in Afghanistan. A large number of Afghan students study in Turkey," Celik noted.
"We have made reforms in the fields of labor and social security and achieved many successful results. It would be beneficial if Afghanistan made use of some of our labor regulations," Celik stated.
Amena Afzali, in her part, thanked Turkey for its assistance and support to Afghanistan.
"Afghanistan is going through a difficult period. There are big problems in the fields of labor and social security. We want to overcome our problems by making use of Turkey's experiences," Afzali underlined.
"Vocational training is crucial to solve the problem of unemployment. South Korea has opened many vocational schools in Afghanistan and we expect similar contribution from Turkey," Afzali also said.
