‘Turkey shouldn’t become an EU member’

I think a dynamic and economically strong Turkey is no more dependent on the EU. It will help Turkey reset its preferences. A lot of realignment is going on in the world. The stage is being prepared. We should choose our allies carefully.

And ofc other EU nations will follow Germany bravely because Germany has some butthurt. Well, succes...

Turkey shall also leave NATO too. It is a self conflicting interest organisation. NATO is build to counter Russia and now Turkey align itself with Russia and at loggerhead with Western Europe and America.

NATO will always side with Greece if any issue arises. What has Turkey gain from such organisation?

Turkey has now a chance to get out and make new alliances. lets hope erdogan got the message.
why cant this president join hands with russia/china. Also move towards barter trade to reduce the bankers influence as revenge after all they are the ones pulling the strings. Hopefully turkish people got a wakeup call no more sucking up and humilation.

The Turkish folks know it too well!!! What they're passing now is a stop-gap arrangement..

Everyone talking big, but the truth is Turkey needs the EU more than the EU needs Turkey. Even the talks between the EU and Turkey have a positive economic impact on Turkey.

Turkeys economy is dependent on FDI, no FDI = massive crisis. Accession talks with the EU = economic stability => more FDI.

And we shouldnt. EU is too restricting. But we should have "close relationship".

Turkey should not leave NATO. Not in current conditions. First of all we do not have solid bounds with Russia, our interests oftenly conflict. Secondly, west is our number one trade partner and we cant risk the trade between Turkey and West. Third, like it or not US still own the world, its too great a risk to leave their side and openly align with their rivals. Time will reveal what will happen in the future. If the power shifts then we can consider changing with whom we side with.

Even without EU I believe Turkey still can get FDI. Cutting the talks doesn't mean trade will over. Being a candidate has its own advantages but till when? This is a dead-end, same old shit circle which will be over one way or another.

Being an EU member might have advantages on short term for Turkey but if we consider the long run it has also many downsides so we should never become EU member instead have good relations with them and maybe even get some privileges when it comes to trading & visa like Baltic countries did.

Never read any article about the sinking ship EU? What was the reason for England to leave? And why other countries like Italy are planning to leave? Explain..

Turkiye is very cleaver. They are in NATO not to support it but to weaken NATO from within. EU has seen what Turkiye has been doing to NATO hence wants to keep Turkiye out of EU lest EU would also go the same way as NATO.

Turkey is in NATO because NATO protected Turkey from the SU, Im sure you know about the territorial claimes the SU had on Turkey?

That was history. There is no SU today and Turkiye is procuring S-400s from Russia to fight NATO.
