Turkey lifts ban on headscarves at high schools

There is a hadith about an event regarding abnormal prayer times due to nature not allowing the normal ways of determining prayer times. I don't remember it exactly so its gonna be tough for me to find but anyway the prophet (PBUH) said. basically to just make an educated guess about the times. So you still have to pray 5 times a day and fast even if the situation is different than what is normally faced. Thats why most scholars say to follow the prayer times for the city that is closest to you which has a normal day light times.

What is normal? The time at the equator, the time of Mecca, the time in northern Europe? You see, either it's perfect or it's not and if it's perfect you don't need patches to fix the problem, patches that are made at the mercy of the interpretation of a human being.

The order for men and women are different, while God asks women to wear headscarves there is a difference of opinion whether or not it is mandatory depending on who you ask.

Why do they have to wear it? What happens if they don't do that?

How is this offensive? There was a thread about exactly this problem with some Muslims living in northern Norway or Sweden during Ramadan.

I do expect from a perfect being who supposedly created this world to know that the sun does not set for a few weeks in the summer season up in the north and telling his worshippers not to eat till the sun sets for a few weeks that coincides with the white nights seem to me not to be a very perfect planning on his side.

No of course not, modesty depends on environment and culture. Like I said already this is not about women who do not wear headscarves at all, this is about the Muslim women who do deem headscarves as a part of being modest of which there are many.

Why Mecca in this case? I know Muslims fast according to German time in Germany. Why so many exception? Why didn't the Quran foresee all these problems. A perfect planing should know all these problems eons ago. Look, the Quran was written not even 2k years ago, but the world was created much earlier, there was plenty of time to know about this problem, unless Arabs at that time have never been to Sweden during summer and just wrote down that rule what they thought to be common sense in Arabia.

I know many Turkish girls who are forced to do that at home. At school, they were more than happy to take the headscarve off. They told being forced to wear a headscarve is like being forced to wear a blinker.

Yeah I know some girls are forced but this is not about forcing if it was about forcing nobody would agree with it. This is in fact about lifting a forced ban of headscarves.

If it wasn't Atatürk forcing equal rights for women in Turkey, I doubt very much that much would have changed in the last hundred years. Turkey would have been like all the other failed or semi-failed Muslim countries that we witness today.

These people who treat our women badly are nonetheless making living together difficult if not impossible.

On the other hand some say if it wasn't for Erdogan Turkey would not see the success it has in the past decade + of his rule. As for Ataturk his forces equal rights for women was all well and good, his forcing them to wear what he wanted them to wear was the main issue.

You are what you wear. Imagine the status of women 100 years ago, even in Europe women had lower status, so forget about women in Muslim countries daring to raise their voice. If it wasn't Atatürk to ban headscarves at staterun institutions, giving rights to women, how do you think women will ever be respected as individual person. Just look around other Muslim countries and you'll see.

Women are counted as half witness because they have a tendency to forget things. ok? so in case one forgets the other can remind her? and dude witnesses nowadays are just a formality, now you can use medical reports for these things so please, use common sense which you clearly lack, or just running blindly to give a bad name to Islam

Quran is not a book of the future, it just gives random predictions to show its authenticity, it said the everything in the universe is in orbit, when your "Scientists" thought that the universe was stationary.
