Turkey lifts ban on headscarves at high schools

actions speak more than stickers
your country became party in the sectarian fueled Arab infighting. by antagonizing the only remaining secular regime in the middle east.. Turkey helped the Saudi/ Qatari proxy war and gave a free killing ground to FSA, ISIS, AL Qaeda which has made the entire middle east a slaughter house.
it it bit your *** so quickly much quicker than our jihadism bit us.

these cannibals and rapists dont give a damn about your legacy and your constitution they will come for you like they came for us.. just look at the terrorism that started.. which might look like its contained but its simmering underneath. becoming a host to jihadi camps carries a hefty price where generations pay with their blood for decades .. we know it because we are paying for it as we see our sons being killed in front of us.
Your living in a fantasy world if you think a couple rag tags will change the politcal system, the Constitution or the social system in Turkey.

As long as its limited with High schools, I'm not againts it, but its should not spread to elementary and middle schools.
dude, there are kids in elementary and middle schools, they are innocent and so they dont need headscarves cuz those schools dont have pervs like you and @xenon54 :)

Some people that tell their daughters not to wear hijab. Isnt that forcing? I dont see people complaining about that.

old news. such measures are more counter-productive and repressing than productive. In the end those women will still have the will to wear a headscarf anyway. Can't believe a mere 'headscarf' was once a huge topic in Turkey. Turkish govt should instead focus on how to attract women to the workforce since women workforce ratio is low for Turkey.

i find this offensive

How is this offensive? There was a thread about exactly this problem with some Muslims living in northern Norway or Sweden during Ramadan.

I do expect from a perfect being who supposedly created this world to know that the sun does not set for a few weeks in the summer season up in the north and telling his worshippers not to eat till the sun sets for a few weeks that coincides with the white nights seem to me not to be a very perfect planning on his side.

Oh, during the winter season, it's the same problem in reverse.

Never saw such a case :D headscarfed girls are mostly coming from religious families anyway.

The Caliphate will rise again Insha-Allah !!!

Haters gonna hate.

One can see the level of development in once laic Turkey and in non-laic other Muslim countries. Don't tell me that all the Turkish or any women who don't wear headscarves are indecent and shall rot in hell.

This is not about women who don't wear headscarves.

Well, there are plenty of Muslim members in this forum who tell me that it's Allah's order for women to wear headscarves.

Is there a good reason why women should do that and men not?

There is a hadith about an event regarding abnormal prayer times due to nature not allowing the normal ways of determining prayer times. I don't remember it exactly so its gonna be tough for me to find but anyway the prophet (PBUH) said. basically to just make an educated guess about the times. So you still have to pray 5 times a day and fast even if the situation is different than what is normally faced. Thats why most scholars say to follow the prayer times for the city that is closest to you which has a normal day light times.

The order for men and women are different, while God asks women to wear headscarves there is a difference of opinion whether or not it is mandatory depending on who you ask.
