Turkey lifts ban on headscarves at high schools

How is this offensive? There was a thread about exactly this problem with some Muslims living in northern Norway or Sweden during Ramadan.

I do expect from a perfect being who supposedly created this world to know that the sun does not set for a few weeks in the summer season up in the north and telling his worshippers not to eat till the sun sets for a few weeks that coincides with the white nights seem to me not to be a very perfect planning on his side.

Oh, during the winter season, it's the same problem in reverse.
There is a biological clock that the almighty had thought about and created, you can find it in yourself too. The almighty have asked the believers to use their brains and common sense. you have a day and night cylce designed in your genes. Do not try to outsmart yourself.
By the way women wearing head scarves appear more beautiful, and are respected more than others (this has been proven with statistics in the US). What do you want more for your sister, wife, friend...etc.
This proves again that Our Allah (Since some people can not understand it to be the Arabic name of the same God of Christians as well as jews) the almighty, was wise and the wisest.
This is partly a matter of religion, since it relates to cultural, legal and social issues too.

most turks on this forum support mullah erdogan, the ikhwaan, taliban and al qaeda... that is what i have seen in the last few years of visiting.

Who the fvck are you......

Ataturk was solving a problem of his time. The religious elite at that time were choking the country to death and they had to be purged. Ataturk did what he had to do to save Turkey. It is pointless for us to second guess his every move, and perhaps loss of certain freedoms (head scarf) was collateral damage in saving Turkey.
However, Turkey has now grown into a mature democracy which respects individual rights and people's democratic choice. The time is right to restore personal freedoms, like wearing a head scarf.

This sums it up.

To add, religion at that time was choking the Empire, every scientific development was being considered evil by muftus.... Ataturk ended that era by finishing the caliphate, banning things related with religion, promoting Nationalism to keep our people together.

Today there is no reason to not be more liberal.... but we are being more liberal at the direction religion, not at all directions. That's the problem.

Whats the news?

It is a shame that there existed such ban in the first place lol...

Turkey is a Muslim nation and should be proud of her identity.

Turks should not become western white a$$ licking slaves by trying to imitate west more than west itself.

human, male, islamist-socialist... can you see who is in my profile picture?? and look at who thanked your post... zarvan... enough to say what you are... mullah.

Oh, it has become some kind of individual choice now and not ordered by Allah written in the Quran?

It certainly is all about individual choice.

If I start a religion tomorrow that requires people to dress in 1970's bell bottoms, and if you join my religion, they you should have the right to wear bell bottoms every day.

It is no one else's business why you dress the way you do, as long as you are not harming anyone.

Actually,, it's about removing discrimination against religion.

If someone wants to dress like a medieval princess, because she likes medieval culture, she is free to do so.

But if someone wants to wear a headscarf, because she like Islamic culture, she is discriminated against.

WTH is "ikhwaan" ???

ikwaan-ul-"muslimoon" ( "muslim" brotherhood )... parent organization of hamas, which your friend, hazzy, is a part of... and which is part of the various criminal gangs invading syria and contributed to murder of 150,000+ syrians... and syria is administered by the baath movement which you are enemy of.

LoL at the zealots getting their knickers in a bunch for (how dare me :azn:) criticising their religion. No wonder that most of you are still stuck in poverty and underdevelopment.

Never saw such a case :D headscarfed girls are mostly coming from religious families anyway.

then maybe you should come to Indonesia where hijab is widely more accepted as part of fashion, ever heard of jilboobs (combining headscarfs and modist thight clothing) phenomenon? :D it's the best thing that can happen to girls with hijab :enjoy:

@nufix

We have these in Turkey, I find many of them hotter then average girls in streets but I doubt they care :D they are still coming from religious families though(kind of), in reality their main reason of wearing headscarf is usually either please their family by looking "modest" or using it as a tool to get to somewhere(with this government its works)
