Have they been able to control Taliban within Afghanistan? a big NO. Before blaming anyone else, US and Afghan forces need to control Taliban including those who are attacking Pakistan from the safe heavens inside Afghanistan. Pakistan is doing whatever it can, within own borders. If US wants some specific target they can ask for it, I believe there are some existing mechanisms.

Meanwhile the Taliban took over another district in central Afghanistan. I got a great idea. How about you guys use air strikes to take back 40% of Afghanistan back from the Taliban and wipe their presence out and then you start bombing other countries.

They have nearly entire Helmand under their control.
