What's new

The story of biryani is rich and royal. Here's a glimpse - and a recipe

most of the culture including even the Sarrhi was brought by Muslims.

:lol::lol:

where was sari brought from?, it is you who is puking from your rear end.

biryani, im stating again is essentially a curry, there is no trace of curry in persian cuisine, they have infact declared persian fusion food ''curry'' as racism and attack on their community.

as to the scholarly reference, they are mostly BS, the western scholars always tend declare indo islamic culture esp with persian name as ''persian'', there is no evidence that name can mean origin as well, eso when persian was used officially by the turks.

As per @Indus Pakistan Biryani came from India to Pakistan
As in the form it exists today it has come from India with migrants bhai's from Utter Pradesh. Before 1995 I had never heard of biriani and neither had I see it in Pakistan. Pilau was the meat/rice dish or boiled rice with meat karai poured over it.

Because the media is Karachi centric Biriani has been touted as national dish when it is not.

Ps. Sari is as Indian as Ganga river, burning widows, lynching circumcized bhais for eating beef.

read your own wikipedia source :lol:

It can be compared to mixing a curry, later combining it with semi-cooked rice separately. This dish is especially popular throughout the Indian subcontinent

Lolzzz so that shows your ignorance and your own statement is contradictory ..you claimed it was brought to this region by Muslim immigrants...now open some history book that immigration took place in 1947 so why did they wait until 1995 :crazy::crazy:

.
so whats the national dish of pakistan?
We are too diverse a country to have a national dish. I think each region has it's own delicious cuisine. I have never had Baloch cuisine but it darned looks nice. We have to bear in mind we are a federation of 4/5 provinces on the River Indus all woven into the vibrant kalaidascope that is Pakistan.

Biryani = Love.

Life is boring without Biryani.
I concur!!!!!. But I prefer plov uzbek version. Love it.

from where did they bring biryani? biryani is only known in indian subcontinent not anywhere else.

My friend.... Travel down the coast of East Africa - Tanzania/Zanzibar and of course in South Africa. Biryani is one of the national dishes :)

Here it is in swahili for those who wont believe me. briyani ya nyama mbuzi (goat); ya kuku (chicken)

Man, wrong. You can write it better.

Firstly in Iran, briyani is NOT what others refer to as biryani. It is biryan a completely different dish all together. Personally, I find food from Teheran too bland and boring; too fancy and no variation. When you move towards east that is where food is much better.
