The Myth of the Shi'a Crescent

It's not a myth, it's the truth. @Sam1980
Without your country, Iraqi people would have been united against terrorism and Iraq which has one of the most stunning civilization, smartest people would have progressed. Without your country, Syria would have been freed by now, without your country Lebanon would have been safe and much more developed. Without your country, Yemen would have been safer and people more united. The same applies on Bahrain and Afghanistan. You have spread misery all over the Middle East including your own country.

.
You mean Saudi Arabia.

Wahhabis are killing people in Iraq everyday.

Wahhabis are killing people in Syria and causing sectarian violence.

Wahhabis ( Taliban) supported and funded by Saudi Arabia killing thousands of people and forcing millions into seeking refugees elsewhere.

Wahhabi terrorist army invading Bahrain to put down pro-democracy movement.

And in yemen Wahhabi terrorist installing a Pro-Wahhabi dictator and killing Shias again.

Wahhabi terrorism is Global issue and funded by Saudi Arabia. Al Sauds regime will pay for it one day.

extremism in religion is bad either it is in Sunni or Shia christianity or jews
@Sam1980 ... zadi jade khaki !

+ your country !
My Country Name is Not Iran . My Country doesn't interfere in internal Matters of other countries like Iran is doing Syria, Bahrain , Lebanon ,Pakistan, Iraq ,++++++

Islam does not belong in Iran. I don't really care about its presence in Saudi Arabia or Pakistan, but Islamic culture and values completely contradict Iranian values. These two cultures are not comparable nor intermingle able. Islam has destroyed Iran; if SOORNA the apologist argues otherwise, he is either deliberately lying or does not know much about the history of Islam in Iran.
Muslims were , Its good if you take a look in 1st and 2nd centuries after Islam to see what muslim scientists have done .

The presence of science during those days had nothing to do with Islam. In fact, it was a continuation of Persian Sassanid and Byzantine works on science, and those scientific schools build in Baghdad was a directly imitated from Persia's Academy of Gundishapur. Second, the boom in science was orchestrated by the Mu'tazila rulers of the Abbasids, and they argued that the Quran was created and that rationality stands above religion. Therefore, they were being seen as heretic by most of the Ulama, and till this day this view on this theological school still exist. Not considering the fact that there view of science and rationality was merely based on a Greek Aristotelian point of view. There justification of science was never based on Islam, nor did Islam form a motivation for those scientists to learn and discover. And when the Mu'tazila school fade away, science in Islamic countries fade away too. Perhaps you should ask yourself why not one significant post-Industrial revolution invention has been made by Muslims or in Islamic countries.

You don't know much about history, do you?

Well now your country is.

Without both Iran and Saudi Arabia if you want the opinion of us, no offense it's politics and all of us would agree with this except for extreme religious nuts that want an empire.

Same Here ! :undecided:

Why don't Pakistan & Iraq have better relations if our people are thinking the same thing ! :(

.
This is comm among Shia Muslims, other phrases used are Ya Ali, Ya Abolfaz. And NO it doesn't mean they worship these people, it just means they love them.

Then kindly for the love of these people kindly tell me what these bets are used for ?

to emphasize that we will follow their path.
also these people are closer to god and their prayer has more effect, so we ask them to ask god, referring to a third party for intercession is even in Quran.

Perhaps you should considering to go to Saudi Arabia or Iraq, so you can actually follow their footsteps. Iran should not be a place for an Arabparast.

. .
It reads Labaik Ya Hussein which should roughly translate as 'Here I am O Hussein' - So maybe its a religious thing !

wow.. now a religious belt !!!!!!

Why Iran never made belts with 'labaik ya Osman' 'labaik ya Siddique' 'labaik ya Omar' 'labaik ya Mohammad (pbuh)' would those not be equally holy?

Where it is in quran which says third party? Allah has asked to pray directly to him as he will personally attend each and every other prayer of the believer.

And as per Prophet Hadith, the criteria of third party is defined as who is alive physically and a pious man. He can pray for you on your behalf!

And how is it praying to dead people so they can ask God on your behalf is any more different than what Jews and christians used to do and ISLAM explicitly forbids it to do?

When Pakistan army men say Ya Ali in battle why do they say so? Majority of such soldiers are Sunni mind you. :coffee:

Intercession Hadith was based on Prophet Muhammad PBUH life where he personally interceded for someone (while alive). I don't see how you can ask men who are no longer here to intercede on your behalf. When someone dies that is it for them here and they go through their trial of the grave they cannot do nothing for the living.

You don't know much about history, do you?

Excuse me but no one says Islam had everything to do with those discoveries but you cannot change the fact that said discoveries happened in the Islamic golden age and it was due to encouragement from the leadership of caliphates that everyone should seek knowledge that science flourished as well as it did. Whereas western civilization at the time refused to allow any such material that did not have a stamp of approval from the Vatican (which was basically everything). Sure a lot of old Indian, Greek, and perhaps even Iranian works were incorporated but mind you if they had not been then they surely would have been lost and besides it is only by continuously expanding on things we already know that we can learn more and more new things. Besides its funny when you guys bring up the sciences of those civilizations because the scientists of said civilization had no qualms with translating old works into Arabic because they were encouraged to expand on the works with local scientists and did so happily. Imagine had we stopped at 0-10 in math just because the Indians were the ones to discover it we would not have algebra or calculus or any other form of calculations today.

Secondly the Mutazila school of thought is often quoted and while it did play some part it was a relatively fringe movement that few Muslims practiced at the time even inside the cities it flourished named Baghdad and Basra. Also the movement lasted about 200 years from the 700s-900s while the Islamic golden age continued until the destruction of Baghdad in 1258. It is historically noted that until the Mongols came along, Baghdad was the center of learning. Kind of blows a hole in your, "when the thought fades away the science fades away" argument considering it took another 400 years before that was the case. Also this is just Baghdad itself, I haven't even mentioned the works done in Al- Andalus by Muslims there, now tell me what role did the Abbasids play in the Cordoba Caliphate? What role did Mutazila school of thought play? The answer is nothing because Abbasids had no power there (ruled by the Ummayad remnants and then mostly berbers thereafter) and Mutazila was not even known of outside of those two cities I mentioned. Rather it is the concept of itijihad which was a huge part of what Islam back then which helped society advance as far as it did.

Now as for your question, why not one significant post industrial revolution invention has been made by Muslims or Muslim countries the answer is simple because the West out paced the East. The education provided in Western nations outranks any institutions in the East by far and so most discoveries are made by people of said countries who just so happen to be non-Muslims. History tells us the pendulum swings both ways, when the west was experiencing a dark age the east flourished, then the west went through a golden age and the east floundered (mind you this is not just Muslim countries but also ancient non Muslim civilizations like the Indians and Chinese have experienced backwardsness) and now as you can see the west has begun to slow back down and the east is picking up the slack. Its a slow process though that takes hundreds of years to go back and forth so mind you it may take awhile but its inevitable.

Yeah and what you do know of history is influenced by your own biased judgement.
