I don't know about technology companies in other cities, but as far as I know, most of those technology companies in Futian District of Shenzhen do so. It lures some people to work overtime through hourly benefits, and then affects the rest to work overtime through the atmosphere of collective overtime.

Another reason is that the employees of technology companies are generally young and not married. They are in no hurry to go home.

996 is pretty much capitalist exploitation, abolish it.
The guy who voiced support for it i.e. Jack Ma, quickly becomes demon among chinese workers.

The fresh grad feel despair when Beijing appartment price is 1 million USD at 100sqm. If you cannot earn enough money and go back village, your son will need to re-walk your way, and try to settle in Beijing.

The US has the same problem. Indians are very good corporate ladder climber. The vile senior managers love them a lot. Even white people got kick out.

I'm really glad Vietnam escaped the 996 and the hell working environment in East Asia.
I don't mind low salary since I can save money and cost of living is also low.

I have experience working with Vietnam entrepreneurs. A lot are evil at high level.

One of my friends running a company forever guarding against his competent engineer. And he hire an stupid and lazy axxhole, and support him fully. And lots of responsibilities are glory, important customer fronting are given to axxhole, and ask good guys to advise the bad guys.

Many young engineers just know how to work hard. They seems not being aware the boss are against them. They just grumble and complain when being treated unfairly. They never see that it is a careful and calibrated design to suppress talent.

This is how the world works.

I always believe big companies are evil. But then without big companies, a lot of things cannot be done, a lot of technologies wont develop. The promotion of big companies is base on sycophant skill while entire elite class keep ranting smart guy get promoted, and those that are fired are stupid.

Elites do evil and put shyt on the face of hardworking engineers.

A lot of my friends from elite universities got the awareness that, in order to be treated fairly you got to be a founder small startup.

In 2017, the salaries of employees of those technology companies in Shenzhen were generally more than 300k CNY(47k USD, 1057m VND). It should be more now.

Because the woman, like pretty Ming in the documentary, will look ever lovelier. Flat belly, small and hard breasts, thin thighs and a general gaunt look take away the loveliness of a woman. I don't want to get into an argument here regarding Microsoft or spaceX,both byproduct of an inherent advantage in decades of research and development in hegemonic era of USA, much of the fundamentals of which devised in an era with no other standard,thus setting their own,allowing the rest to fit and grow withing the standard set by them.

Meddling too much in it is not natural for a civilization state as china. Though it's seen as problem,it's not unique and such prevails all across the globe. Take away the profit motives and see if they are really hardworking.

Let me tell you how Chinese technology companies force employees 996.
According to Chinese law, they leave work at 5 p.m, but you can volunteer to work overtime, and overtime must be paid.
Even with overtime pay, most Chinese don't like overtime.
But most Chinese technology companies will provide free dinner at 6 p.m., as shown in the figure below, so many employees will work overtime for an hour and go home after dinner.

Most Chinese technology companies offer free wash clothes ticket at 7 p.m., so, you know.
Most Chinese technology companies provide taxis at 8 p.m
Most Chinese technology companies offer double overtime pay at 9 p.m., so, you know.

It's 996 now. I go to work at 9 a.m. and get off at 9 p.m.
