Is "Farsi" interchangeable with "Persian" in terms of the actual language? I was always taught that the language is called "Farsi".Here are the languages of Iran. Not all of these are Iranic. Pashto and Dari spoken by Afghan refugees:

Yes it is. It technically means "of Fars (Persia)." In ancient times it was known as Parsi but Arabs could not pronounce that so Pars became Fars and Parsi became Farsi.Is "Farsi" interchangeable with "Persian" in terms of the actual language? I was always taught that the language is called "Farsi".
