Governments world over need to realize that their Muslim communities need not turn in to Arabs to be good Muslims.. Which they have been for thousands of years before the Wahhabi oil money started churning out extremists a decade or two ago.. I applaud the Tajik government as well as the former Turkish leaders and South East Asian prosperous nations like Malaysia and Indonesia

Majority of the people in this world agrees with your views including me .But that religion was created from a nation that offered 200 luxury mosques instead of food and water for the refugees in Germany and other EU nations.
They will stir problems .They will play with those religious followers and no govt want that unrest not even US .

Malaysia isn't what it used to be. Its moving towards extremism slowly but steadily.

Chinese are doing the same for Uighur muslims, they're forced to shave their beard not allowed to wear hijabs forced to sell alcohol and Cigarets. Not allowed to take fast during Ramadan.

The last civil war in Tajikistan was initiated by Islamist groups and with the threat of civil war back on the horizon, Rahmon is making a play to divide the secular opposition and buy more time for his regime. He might be an authoritarian leader but the ploy just might work.
