T-70 Deal Will Be Signed Within 30 Days

Mr.Samir Mehta, President of Sikorsky Military Systems confirmed that the deal only 30 days away.

Turkey and the U.S will sign an agreement in the sphere of military helicopter production, Turkish newspaper Hurriyet reported today.

According to the information, the agreement will be signed with Sikorsky company.

Around 109 military helicopters will be jointly produced within the agreement worth $ 3.5 billion.

The negotiations between the U.S. Sikorsky company and the Turkish Ministry of Defense Industry began in 2010.

The Turkish defence industry has recently focused on developing and manufacturing its own products. Turkey managed to achieve a self-sufficiency level at 54 per cent in the defence industry.

T70i Black Hawk ,we get the Tech for Sikorsky T70 and will Produce it for some Middle East and Asian State´s because Sikorksy needs more Producement Power and a Deal comes with Turkey

The helo numbers are complicated to count but current UH-60/S-70 numbers are more or less as following;

Land Forces: ~100 S-70
Gendarmerie Forces: ~ 25 S-70

There are more than 200 UH-1, AS-532 Cougar, AB-205,206,212 series and Mi-17 helicopters available in inventory as well.



With addition 107 T-70, Turkish land forces will be the biggest utility helicopter power of region.

Skorsky S-70s' are like the arm of Turkish army. Most probably, It is about perfect performance of copter so Turkish pilots love those copters. That's why Winner of TUHP tender is resulted to favour T-70 licence production instead of Italian T-147 %50/50 offer collaboration co-development/co-production,co-export within all life circle of platform.

And after these 109 T-70s(Yes i know they are not all for land forces) how will our land forces fleet be ? Will some of our current helis be removed ? If yes which ones do you think ? Or are we increasing our general purpose helicopter fleet ?

Savunma Sanayi İcra Komitesi'nin Nisan 2011'de aldığı kararla Amerikan Sikorsky firmasıyla sözleşme görüşmelerine başlanmıştı. Ancak aradan 3 yıl geçmesine rağmen, Amerika Birleşik Devletleri kaynaklı bazı sıkıntılar nedeniyle sözleşme bir türlü imzalanamadı.

Genel Maksat helikopterinde sıkıntılar büyük ölçüde giderildi ve gelecek hafta TUSAŞ tesislerinde Sikorsky firması ile sözleşme imzalanması bekleniyor.
