First of all I wish the best for both pilots (at this time I do not know if they are recovered or not) and hopefully they will be unharmed.

However what you say cannot be. You may wish for it to be the case, but anyone with military background knows it can't be.

It is clear that turkish planes violated Syrian airspace before and hence the syrians/russians knew the target on their scopes would stay there and hence they took a shot.

Here is an example of what a country can do. You see they didn't sent out a plane to identify and escort out your fighters like Greece does. They wanted to make a statement.

This is where you begin to think whose fault it is. Surely not the pilots, they were following orders, surely not the syrians, their space was being violated. Perhaps the people who ordered the mission? Since they miscalculated the syrian intentions.

Well sir you are first non turkish member who speaks make sense to me.But i believe people in power will never admit their fault.It's gonna fall on our Pılot and TurAf.And for me that is the worse case scenario.

There is no similarities between Aegean Issue and the Syrian conflict. We are allies -in paper- with Greece, while tensions with Syria is not new.

We are living this kind of things, aren't we? But if we must do the what Syrians did, almost half of the Greek and Turkish airforce must shot down. Syrians even didn't send a warning.

Shooting a plane must be the last thing to do, or am i missing something?

both sides of story could be true, as no official (like FM) have talked openly about it. all we know is our own guesses and media's.

syria's been on full alert for a while, expecting attack from everywhere, if your plane was flying low, without answering them, so they had right to drop it down. they may have thought its not answering because its from israel, going to bomb another nuclear plant

but if the above isnt true, then its syria's fault.

either way, attacking a country over a plane is nutjobs. you lost only a plane and not the pilots. but if you start a war, many ppl (mostly civilians) will die on both countries. is that what you guys want?

To be honest mate I used to think it was all the Israelis fault but after having thoroughly researched the issue and seeing some of the views some of you Arabs and further convinced by your posts I am starting to think its Arab's leaders who are the problem which is leading to innocent deaths of Arabs and Muslims left right and centre.
