Pardon me, but I watch one movie of that kind. It has no english or VN subtitles so I kind of walking in the dark. The movie portrayed the superior of Chinese military might, yet somehow the director got it all over the top dramatic at the end. In the movie there are scences (a lot) where Chinese military artillery firing non-stop, and there seems to be no scene of VN artillery firing back, which we all know that is illogical in a battle with no air or naval support. And you know at the end the protagonist and his friends get ambushed by VN forces (seems to have mortal support) and get almost wiped out. The film ends with the protagonist screaming and carrying his friends cross the battlefield towards China trench.
I know the movie is a propaganda, so I have no comment on the storyline. However, the way the director made the war seems heroic, sacrificial is strange. I know you guys call it the Counter Offensive War, but do you take pride of going at war against a much smaller neighbor? The movie would have been good if it focus more on the soldier, and less on the showcase of Chinese fire power (a lot of fire work there). I actually love to read the diaries and letters of soldiers from both sides, to actually understand the harsh truth of the battlefield, and how people reacts to it.

EastSea please stop provoking hatred. They want to show Chinese perspective, we'd better show ours. No need to waste your time and effort on stuff like who won or lost, who was wrong or right, who lost more soldiers. Of course if they do it first you are welcome to fire back, but for now, show them views from our side.
