Sino-Pak Relations as US-Pak Tensions Rise

Come on guys

It’s from Express Tribune, I only posted it here……..

It's not your fault buddy.

It just confuses me when the Pakistani Tribune simply reprints articles from other sources, that are written from a Western angle rather than a Pakistani one.

China to keep Pakistan embrace at arm's length

By Sui-Lee Wee

----------------------------

Notice source of these type of news are US media (Reuters) . Interested parties who are discomforted by Pakistan-China relation and paid up media agents in places like Beijing, Islamabad, and Delhi are picking up these US media/govt generated propaganda. Clearly US sees deep Pakistan China relation as obstacle for its next agenda. These manufactured articles are d- trying to speak on be half of Chinese and Pakistani govt as if govt does not exist in these countries.

After failing with bully tactics

  • US went to Saudi Arabia, looks like tricks did not work this time
  • US went to China that did not work either.
  • US propped karazi to do their dirty mouth work.
  • US deployed its propaganda machinary to create mistrust by manufacture stories and pretending to speak Pakistani and Chinese mind. Goal is to do indirect coercion.
  • If none of these work, US at some point will outsource some dirty work namely terrorism to india.
Hope Pakistan and China already preparing for US moves ahead.

This is called diplomacy... on one hand china will keep on supporting PAK & at the same time it will keep good relations with others..these types of article are bound to be released on regular basis.. keeping in mind the current geopolitical situation.

Sino-Pak friendship: All weather partners
By Reuters
Published: October 4, 2011

Pakistan, facing a crisis in relations with the United States, has embarked on a charm offensive with China this week, keen to portray its “all-weather friend” as an alternative ally to Washington.
Here are some facts about ties between China and Pakistan:
‘All weather’ partners
  • China and Pakistan call each other “all-weather friends” and their close ties have been underpinned by long-standing wariness of their common neighbor, India, and a desire to hedge against US influence across the region.
  • After the United States killed Osama bin Laden — the mastermind of the September 11, 2001, attacks — in Pakistan on May 2, China called the event a “progressive development” but also defended the Pakistani government, which has been criticized in the United States for failing to find bin Laden, if not harboring him.

Conventional arms, nuclear power, port access
  • China has been Pakistan’s biggest supplier of conventional arms, according to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute’s database, and many analysts believe China supported Pakistan’s nuclear weapons program in past decades.
  • China has helped Pakistan build its main nuclear power generation facility at Chashma in Punjab province, where a second, 330 MW unit started last week, and it has plans to build two more there, despite international misgivings about risks to nuclear safety and the integrity of non-proliferation rules.
  • Last year, the China National Nuclear Corp said it was also in talks about building a separate 1-gigawatt atomic plant in Pakistan.
  • China has helped build the deep-sea Gwadar port on Pakistan’s Arabian Sea coast, partly with a view to opening up an energy and trade corridor from the Gulf, across Pakistan, to western China.
  • According to a Pew Global Attitudes Project (pewglobal.org) survey of Pakistani public opinion in 2010, 85 percent of respondents said they had a favorable view of China, and 3 percent said they had an unfavorable view. By contrast, 17 percent had a favorable view of the United States, and 68 percent had an unfavorable view.
  • Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari has visited China frequently, and urged China to invest more in his country.

Trade hopes
  • Annual two-way trade was worth $8.7 billion in 2010, a rise of 27.7 percent on the previous year, according to Chinese statistics.
  • Trade flows go heavily in China’s favor, and last year it exported goods worth $6.9 billion to Pakistan, a rise of 25.5 percent on 2009, while Chinese imports from Pakistan were worth $1.7 billion, a rise of 37.2 percent.
  • Pakistani officials have recently said the neighbors could increase bilateral trade to $15 billion a year by the end of 2012.
  • China helped build Gwadar port in Baluchistan, and the Karakoram Highway, connecting northern Pakistan to far western China, which could be upgraded to provide a conduit for Chinese energy imports from other markets.

Security concerns
  • China has urged mainly Muslim Pakistan to take action against Uighur militants from the western Chinese region of Xinjiang who have slipped in to Pakistan in past years.
  • On July 5, 2009, violence broke out between Muslim Uighurs and Han Chinese in Xinjiang, killing 197 people, many of them Han residents attacked by Uighurs. Pakistan deplored the riots, winning praise from China for its stance.
  • During a visit to Xinjiang in August, President Zardari promised to work closely with China in the fight against terrorism, after Chinese officials blamed militants trained in Pakistan for an attack in the region.
  • The safety of Chinese nationals working in Pakistan has also been a major concern for China. Several Chinese workers were killed in militant attacks in Pakistan in recent years.

What you are saying is you rather to have a freiend that gave you a few bucks, handed you a knife instructed you to go kill for him, then abused your family, slaped you in the face in the public for all to see, than some one who give you moral support, help you to learn new skills so you can stand on your own feet and stand by you when you are in trouble?

could you give me some examples of how you are helping Pakistan stand on their own feet ? have you stood by Pakistan in their time of need ?. be it financially when they approached you on 08 or 2010 ,you declared it was against policy to lend money . for that matter, in which war with India have you helped Pakistan? you have stood neutral . and gone as so far as asking them to withdraw in kargil . now is that what you call standing by someone?

the simple difference between China and US is , as a member already put it before, that China teaches us how to fish, while the US gives fish, if we get to know how to catch fish , we eat fish for all our life, but if we only get fish, then we get dependent on somebody, i.e US.

Us has also done more damage to Pakistan as well, while China has not done damage.

I have stated the solution to this Issue yet no Pakistani want's to hear, China needs to take complete control of Pakistan, it's clear The Pakistani's won't listen to anyone except China or Saudi Arabia, China could de radicalize the Pakistani population, improve women rights, and end the madness in Pakistan, however Pakistan would be Annexed and called South Xijiang.

so people of pakistan,do not want to come out of delusional world and face reality ????
Stop exporting terror, start educating your youth so that no mullah can brain wash them and we all can live a happy and prosperous life !

People of Pakistan are living in reality! day in day out they are facing raw, cia, mosaad Sponsored terrorism, for once India have to come in real world and think what will happen to its Interests when U.S will depart from Afghanistan,if your goverment thinks and blabs like you then kiss a good by to Afghanistan for starter. You need to look at your policy in Balochistan befor you make an allegations on Pakistanies.

ISLAMABAD: The year 2011 marked the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan, and is designated as the Year of China-Pakistan Friendship, said Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Liu Jian.

In an article, the Chinese ambassador said, "Ever since the launching ceremony held by our Embassy and Pakistan Foreign Ministry on January 1st, a lively and grand spectacle of joint celebrations has been unveiled, during which we have witnessed hundreds of activities and interactions in various fields, at every inch of land, and among all walks of life.

At this glorious juncture, I have every good reason to review the history of China-Pakistan friendship, which is indeed a time- honored brotherhood, regardless of changes in the international situation or in each other's domestic affairs."

Pakistan was one of the first countries to recognize New China.

In the 1950s and 60s, when China was suffering from Western blockade, it was Pakistan that opened an air corridor linking China to the outside world.

In the early 1970s, it was Pakistan that supported China to restore its lawful seat in the UN, and served as a bridge for the normalization of Sino-US relations. On China's core issues such as Taiwan, Tibet, and the fight against three evils, it is Pakistan that has extended its valuable support at all times.

On the other part, China has always sided with Pakistan in its struggle for national sovereignty and independence, and for economic and social development.

The mega projects of Karakoram Highway (KKH), Heavy Mechanical Complex at Taxila, and Chashma nuclear plant and the Pak-China Friendship Center, are the monuments of the ever-spiking friendship.

Over six decades of interactions and cooperation, China- Pakistan relationship, termed as "higher than mountains, deeper than oceans and sweeter than honey", is an exemplary model of harmonious co-existence between countries with different social systems and cultures.

The ambassador said, "In my view, there are four main factors contribute to this unprecedented bilateral relation. First, China and Pakistan strictly abide by the Five Principles of Peaceful Co- existence, highly respect, equally treat and sincerely trust each other.

Second, we always wholeheartedly help each other whenever in difficulties and forge ahead with joint hands through thick and thin. Third, China and Pakistan maintain close coordination on major international and regional issues, and in safeguarding regional peace and stability."

Today, the development of China-Pakistan relationship has gained strong momentum and achieved steady progress comprehensively, featured with strong strategic partnership, robust economic cooperation and ever-closer people to people connections. This kind of all-weather relationship is fully embodied in this year's celebrations.

Our special bonds are highlighted by the frequent interactions between our leaders, governments, legislatures, and political parties.

On May 21st, our leaders exchanged congratulatory messages on the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties. Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani have paid their 7th and 4th visit to China respectively this year. Our two prime ministers also met on the sidelines of 10th meeting of Heads of Government of Shanghai Cooperation Organization in St.Petersburg.

Other prominent exchanges include the visits to China by Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Wynne, Foreign Minister Khar, Information Minister Awan, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Chairman PPP Bilawal Zardari, and Chairman PTI Imran Khan.

Meanwhile, Chinese State Councilor Meng Jianzhu, Special Envoy of Chinese Government Wang Chen, and a number of minister-level delegations, all contribute to the high-level mutual trust and coordination on major issues of common concerns.

This year also witnessed sound development of economic and trade cooperation between the two countries. China has been Pakistan's second largest trade partner.

The bilateral trade volume up to October stood at $8.5 billion, an increase of 23.9% over the same period of last year. China now is Pakistan's largest trading partner, the largest exporter and fourth largest importer."
