Bloodied: Inderjit Singh Mukker was the victim of a savage racist attack
A racist thug battered a Sikh taxi driver into hospital while calling him a "terrorist" and "bin Laden".

Inderjit Singh Mukker, 53, was left unconscious and covered in blood with a fractured cheekbone following the savage attack.

Trouble began for the dad-of-two when he was driving down a street in Chicago in Tuesday night.

The violent yob pulled up along side him and began yelling racial slurs, including: "Terrorist, go back to your country, bin Laden”

Mr Mukker, a dad-of-two who was on his way to do the family shopping, tried to get away but the man followed him in his car.

According to the Sikh Coalition, the thug cut him off, then reached through his window and started bludgeoning him around the face.

Mr Mukker was knocked out and left with a fractured cheekbone, blood pouring from a cut on his cheek.

He was rushed to the hospital, where he received six stitches, treatment for lacerations, bruising and swelling.

Sadhu Singh Rihiraj, Mr Mukker's father, told NBC Chicago : "It's very frightening he had broken cheek bones.

"He couldn't see anything."

Harsimran Kaur, the Sikh Coalition’s legal director, said: “We believe Mr. Mukker was targeted and assaulted because of his Sikh religious appearance, race or national origin.

“We request an immediate investigation and call on local and federal agencies to investigate this attack as a hate crime.”

Police are said to be investigating the attack as hate crime.

No charges have been filed in the attack, according to police, who added that the 17-year-old suspect is at a local hospital for an unknown reason.

Police also said they have spoken to the Sikh Coalition to assure them that they will deliver a thorough investigation.
