Imagine being one of the executives going to meet the PM hoping to sign some multibillion dollar deals and getting a bonus , with which they would have bought another villa in corsica or south of France or maybe another yatch.

We'll have to see who gets awarded the contract. MRCA deal isnt over yet.

We do not need them enough to justify BAF having its own fleet. Biman can operate some commercially as well as cater for the needs of the military.

Rafale will be too expensive for BD. It would be better for them to go for JF-17 block 3.

It's not about expenses, but it's about strategy. What India will get , we simply can't get it.

Wait before US comes with fruits and gifts as defence equipment.

If US is serious in engaging Bangladesh to wean off another country from China, it will offer a deal Europeans cant match. Their F-16V is equal to Rafale and will be much cheaper as US heavily subsidizes its weapons sales and due to long production and high number of units sold of their weapons, their unit cost becomes much cheaper.

Let's just take a step back and think about something.

Whether BAF picks Eurofighter or Rafale, the fact that we are here is significant.

I don't think anyone in their right mind would mention Rafale and Bangladesh in the same sentence just a few years ago.

And here we have pics of the French rolling out the red carpet for Hasina trying to peddle their wares.

Bangladesh has come a long way, at least economically.

Let us at least celebrate that fact.

As for what BAF chooses, ultimately either has its pros and cons but sure beats F-7s.
