Deep Sea Port at Sonadia going to China.

Let's look at the facts:
A) This is a commercial project to create a massive deep water port, it's not a naval base (those are being built elsewhere).
B) Bangladesh economy is about to take off in a major way, in a decade or so we are going to see Bangladesh become a major export lead economy and a home for FDI from China, Japan Korea etc. soon even Chittagong port is not going be able to handle the traffic.
C) We have to use Singapore right now for shipment, in future those super carriers that need deep water ports can dock directly at Sondia. This will greatly reduce costs and increase our exports.
D) Will we see india and the NE use the port an it's facilities (the port will earn handling fees, but will mostly be needed for our use). That depends on a lot of factors, BD/india relations, if we give them transit, Chin/india relations (BOT so the Chinese company that is building and funding the port will own and manage it initially) etc.
The truth of it is, the Bangladeshi government is going to the only nation that has the funds to invest big in Bangladesh, you just can't compare india an China. Look back when Sri Lanka wanted to build a large port, they first went to india an was rejected so they turned to China. The Bangladeshi gov have learn't from those mistakes an have gone to China to build the deep water port, it's just one of many more projects to come (mega bridges, airports, roads, trains and tracks, export zones etc) and truthfully, right now only China can fund and deliver them.

Why are you so obsessed with investment from Muslim countries who cannot build even their own roads and culverts, and who themselves depend upon the Christian and Buddhist technology and brain to build a large factory and operate it?
Muslim countries live in the society which is 1500 old. There is no reason BD seeks help from those countries for its own progress and development who themselves remain behind under the shadow of dark age of the past.
