Should Pakistan purchase the Venezuelan F16

and who told you that PAF will go for j-11 ...are there any authentic sources or just a percepntion based thng?

Pak needs an Air Superiority Fighter. J-11 will perform that role beautifully.

I am assuming the all Weather Friendship with China will yeild us the J-11 in 5 to 10 years.

Basically in the doctrine of Aerial Warfare, a country needs who launches an aerial offensive needs to have 3:1 advantage to achieve air dominance.

Pakistan by having 700 Front Line Fighters along with SAM batteries will make certain that India will need an 3,000 Fighter Air Force to achieve air dominance over Pakistan.

And besides, Pakistan is not an aggressor nation. Any war which will be waged upon us will come from India and thus our defensive posture.

The F-16 is a solid platform which Pakistan has used for the last 30 years. F-16 can last for another 20 years in the Pakistan Air Force.

After F-16, we need to move to Chinese and Indigenous production.

We will have 2 squadron+ by december 2010 ~ 36+ , our first sqaudron was completed few months ago ... in between feb-december we are expecting to induct another squadron

If we get 18 (2008-2009)+15(2010) crafts done its not too bad for 2010

We already have our Block 2 JF17 thunders negotiaions almost wrapped up with french avionics

We normally hit our deadlines

Well its all about the hard cash ... buying 125 planes outright cash is alot of cash ...

May be we should try to get F16 E/F from UAE ... get 18 fighters - 1 squadron for special ops

Production of the J-11 stoped at around 100, one has to take into account that the J-11 is a kit build, meaning China is under contract to built a set number which, to my understanding, stoped at around 100. The question is how does Pakistan receive 150 J-11's when China isn't alound to built more than 100?

Well Chinese do have their own variant plane J11 , the Sukhois are used in China with Sukhoi designations , J11 is a completely Chinese 100% chinese engineering it might look like Sukhoi but it not Sukhoi its a bit better

Vanazuella offered the F16 to another country who US does not gets along with ( No names) , all planes, so why not Pakistan get it rather then the planes go to some other country ? This happened when Venezuella asked for parts and US denied it so Chaves said he will seel to another country -

Clearly things are not working

Its a very logical move , we got Mirages from libya when they had parts sanctions so why not now ? we can get the F16 to counter Indian MRCA

The J-11 is a SU-27SK with mostly Chinese avionics, they are built from SU-27 kits, the J-11 came from the same factory as the SU-27SK and the Russians transfered the technology nessesary to built the J-11, the Chinese payed to produce 100 SU-27sk's/J-11 this doesn't mean 150, 200 or 300.

Well initially China ordered some plane 'kits' and they were doing the assembly , and then they realized that wait , we can make our own flankers

So they used their own avionics, their own engines , I heard they are also conducting advance testing on engine and thrust related adavancements..

So the new J11 class J11B is really 100% Chinese

Every thing is Chinese made, there is no part that is Russian in the plane...

So that is why China is looking forward to export the planes to Pakistan with TOT

The planes China makes are 100% different then the ones that russia made in 70's , these are more advance planes new avionics and performance is superior

We expect to move ahead with J11B class by 2015 -


Russia may feel its the same plane but its not same plane , just like Levi is not F16 , and JF17 thunder is not Levi nor is the J10B F16 , they are inspired may be by earlier planes but these are unique planes Made in China
