Should pakistan increase the number of troops

Bring back the thousands of Pak soldiers serving in UN missions. Various pressure groups have openly questioned the position of the UN peace keeping force as to what thier purpose is. Pak needs to bring these soldiers back home and retrain and better equip the police, law enforcement agencies and border patrol.

Can somebody please inform me who the Kasadar force are and what thier duty is?

U can call them tribal area Police or law enforcement company,they are (local tribesmen force). Duties include every thing from normal police work and also WOT fighting , etc

Sir our main focus is FC , the one @Wolf talked about , the other units will be upgraded but first we need FATA as normal Province , Then these units can become normal upgraded police force.

Furthermore, how many FC personnel are required to control Pak- Afghan border?
The border is 2250km. If we have 225 posts at each kilometer of the border with 40 FC soldiers working in different shifts throughout the day, equipped with Night vision goggles and snipers which are backed by artillery and mortar batteries and gunship helps like mi 35s at every 30-40km of the border THEN we can contain Pak - Afghan border. As there are around 80,000 FC soldiers at the moment and aforementioned deployment needs 90,000 FC soldiers, so we can induct 40,000 more FC soldiers and that will be enough for the border and other operations by FC.

Makes complete sense but will any of the suggestions be considered by Pak Army?

No need to, they get paid many times more and are more then happy to do the job for humanity.

With all respect , I agree most of your post , infect some of this is, what I also said in my previous post . But I differ with u on Mountain Corps Issue , For me and according to new geopolitical Env, and IA mountain Corps in IOK , and almost 700000 troops we need our own Mountain Corps , with great training and latest Eqm for mountain War,
Rest I agree sir we need to upgrade our Corps (holding + Defending ) like Lahore and Gujaranwala , we can upgrade them to latest Mechanized Div Corps with latest IFVs , AFVs, APCs, ATGMS, and Air Defence systems, This upgrade will almost kill any cold or hot strike in Punjab and also in AJK (with one new Mountain Corps) and this will also free our main Strike Corps (take burden away from them ).
Upgrading them will cost us money and time , but surly this will be cheaper then to have one or two new corps and also in new modern wars we need to and have to upgrade them , its better and lethal option.
We also need to increase Pakistan Rangers Seize , there EQM and Training (best reserve ) , we can add 50000 more there .

To the best of my knowledge, currently only mountain force we have is the 12th Infantry Div. the Northern Light Infantry and probably the 50 or so battalions of Azad Kashmir Regiment. Why I did not mention specialised 'Mountain Infantry' is because in my opinion, Light Infantry can do most of the tasks of mountain infantry.

India - Pakistan, main set piece battle would probably be fought either on the Punjab plains or along the Rajasthan desert. Whereas Mountain infantry would not be able handle desert conditions. Light infantry Divs should be able to fight equally well on the mountains as well as on the plains. Additionally, Light Infantry, with sufficient number of medium lift helos, can be quickly shifted from one front to another, acting as a force multiplier

I think wat Pak Army is doing is colaborating with NATO in afganistan and cleaning FATA. Then they will ingrease the number of internal security troops there and free Regular Army formations to the Eastern Front.

I might be wrong,but there's no need for Pakistan to increase troops or to try to equal numerically India. Nuclear weapons keep the two countries from invading each others or being involved in large scale wars. Skirmishes from time to time that's it. @Kaptaan
What Pakistan should do is to improve its internal security. I think that Pakistan needs to purge all of its police forces.
Get rid of corrupts and incompetent elements,create new police forces,recruit more officers,improve their conditions ; Higher salaries,better training,better equipments,new technologies,better relations toward the general public ----> Less corruption,more competence,better work done ----> Improved image toward the population who will trust their police forces.

Thanks for your concern buddy. You are right in noticing that police forces require extreme reform. Pakistan is suffering from extreme crime in its top cities other than terrorism. A solid policy is needed to deal with both aspects. Intelligence should also be improved so that we are pro-active, meaning we stop attacks before they actually occur. Saving precious human lives and giving justice should be basics of our policy.

Quality and quantity both. It is scary how you say it's gone 'down' - Baluchistan has been targeted many times, we make it too easy. The point isn't to lessen, the point should be to prevent.

Some one needs to tell them it's not army's responsibility to deal with internal threats in the first place.it is government's job to clean this internal mess
We need to make our public institute strong and responsible for their actions if we want things to improve.

Over the past 15 years the western and southwestern border have become increasingly volatile and difficult to control. this should be Pakistan's first priority. Out of curiosity should Paksitan make a Citizens defence force? Bangladesh have a village defence force made up of civilians should Pakistan do the same? What about national service for every able citizen like Turkey has in place?
