IAI UNVEILS THE NEW ULTRA UHF RADAR FAMILY
Jun 8, 2015
ULTRA C-22 Radar
Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) unveiled a unique, highly advanced family of modular Ultra High Frequency (UHF) Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) Radars.
The new ULTRA family of AESA UHF radars, developed by IAI's ELTA Systems Group and subsidiary, represents a formidable capability of Early Warning and long range search and tracking of low observable Air Breathing Targets (ABTs), and ballistic missiles. The radars offer an advantage of low RCS targets detection at long ranges, operation under all weather conditions, and in the presence of dense electromagnetic environments.
The ULTRA radars, already operationally proven, use a modular, common UHF-band cluster architecture capable of wide angle electronic scan in both elevation and azimuth. The basic cluster can be modularly scaled to 6 and up to a 22 cluster configuration which offers extended detection ranges and tracking accuracies. Other cluster configurations are possible to meet specific customer's requirements.
The ULTRA-C1 (single cluster configuration) is a lightweight mobile system designed to provide an autonomous search and detection capability up to 500km for a typical fighter aircraft. The ULTRA-C6 (six clusters configuration) is designed for an Early Warning and long range of satellites, ballistic missiles and airborne targets at long ranges, while the ULTRA C-22 (22 clusters configuration) is a strategic system for ballistic missiles and space objects detection and tracking at very long ranges.
The ULTRA radars can be used as autonomous search radar, supporting all defence layers: Air Defence Surveillance for medium range, Early Warning system for long ranges, and a strategic system for very long ranges.
"Ballistic missiles present a significant global threat to nations, expeditionary forces and global peace-keeping missions", explained Mr. Nissim Hadas, IAI Executive VP & ELTA President, "We note increasing requirements worldwide for Early Warning radars, in order to extend the currently available Air Situation Picture and allow commanders and decision makers the valuable extra time for making informed and educated decisions concerning necessary defensive measures."

IAI UNVEILS "TERRA" : A UNIQUE DUAL BAND RADAR
Nov 8, 2015
The system comprises the ULTRA UHF band radar, and the new AESA ELM-2090S SPECTRA S-band
SPECTRA ELM-2090S S-band radar
TERRA dual band radar System
Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) unveils "Terra"- a dual-band radar system, for optimization of early-warning, detection and accurate tracking of very long range targets such as ballistic missiles, satellites and air-breathing targets. The TERRA, developed and produced by ELTA Systems Ltd., IAI's Subsidiary and Group, is comprised of the ULTRA UHF band radar (ELM-2090U), unveiled earlier this year, and the new ELM-2090S SPECTRA S-band very-long-range search and track radar. TERRA's enhanced performance is achieved through automatic handover and redundancy between the ULTRA and SPECTRA radars, combined with improved target load sharing, Electronic Counter-Counter Measures (ECCM) and severe-weather resilience.
The new SPECTRA Active Electronic Scanned Array (AESA) radar which can also perform as a standalone system, is a transportable ground-based or shipborne radar system designed to autonomously detect and simultaneously track multiple tactical ballistic missiles. The SPECTRA provides high-accuracy target tracking, and real-time launch point and impact point estimations. The high-power GaN AESA technology implemented in the radar includes thousands of transmit/receive modules that provide high efficiency, reliability and graceful degradation.
"Ballistic and cruise missiles present a significant global threat to nations worldwide, explained Mr. Nissim Hadas, IAI Executive VP & ELTA President.
"The TERRA system provides outstanding performance for its users for very long range early warning, detection and highly accurate tracking. It is designed to confront the full range of modern threats, as the new SPECTRA radar is based on the most advanced modern technology, and provides unique capabilities and excellent operational results, placing it among the best radars worldwide".

ELM-2080
ELM-2080 - Green Pine Radar System
General
The Green Pine Radar Systems, ELM-2080 and ELM-2080S, are a family of transportable, ground-based radar systems, designed to autonomously detect and simultaneously track dozens of Tactical Ballistic Missiles (TBMs) from long ranges, under all weather conditions and in the presence of undesired signals. The modular Active Electronically Steering Array (AESA) technology implemented in the radar includes thousands of transmit/receive modules that provide high redundancy, graceful degradation, high reliability and high availability. The original ELM-2080 Green Pine Radar and its more advanced successor, the ELM-2080S Super Green Pine Radar, use a similar deployment infrastructure as well as a similar integrated logistic support. This allows the customer to optimally tailor anti- TBM solutions with a mix of Green Pine Radar systems, according to specific operational requirements. Operational in the Israel Air Force as part of the Arrow Weapon System, Green Pine Radar Systems enhance the country’s air defense and early-warning capabilities. The addition of Green Pine radars improves the performance of any ballistic missile defense System.

An advanced version of the radar, called EL/M-2080S Super Green Pine,
[28] Green Pine Block-B,
[29] or Great Pine (
Hebrew: אורן אדיר, pronounced
[oʁen adiʁ]), is to take the place of the original Green Pine. It is composed of more powerful but smaller transmit–receive modules with better capabilities than those of the Green Pine,
[23][30] and is believed to produce double the power output,
[1] extending detection range to about 800–900 km (500–560 mi).
[29][31] In October 2010 the IDF decided to put another Arrow 2 battery into operational use.
[32] The new battery will receive the new radar - "Super Green Pine".
[33] An even more advanced upgrade of the Super Green Pine is under development.
