MOSCOW, October 13. /TASS/. Russia will sign an agreement with India on October 15 on the delivery of S-400 Triumf antiaircraft missile systems, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said on Thursday.

"Following the results of the negotiations between our president and [Indian Prime Minister Narendra] Modi, an agreement will be signed on the delivery of S-400 Triumf antiaircraft missile systems to India, as well as some other documents," he said.

"Part of the documents will be signed behind closed doors," he said.

The Kremlin aide declined to comment on the details of the deal, suggesting that first the document should be signed.

That's how you improve things; not assign a shoestring budget, do not participate or show any interest in product development and then expect it to become a STAR WARS grade system on completion.

This is a typical Indian mentality which we need to come out of. Making weapons is not like preparing a dish for lunch.

Indian companies should change theirs "chalta hei/ ho jasyega" attitude too... AFAIK even the simple things like the electro mechanical cables which connects patent ship and towing sonars are imported,the Indian companies are unable make such basic things.

1. They are not governed by fooking bureaucrats who consider themselves to be gift of god for the mere common man,.
2. Because an employee will get their a.s.s kicked if caught under performing.
3. TAT, Deadlines, budget, auditing, QA, QC are actually implemented .
4. There is competition and u will have to shut down ur shop if the Product Quality and service is not up to mark

Arrow program is meant against Long Range Ballistic missiles when Arrow 3 can deal with exo atmosphere ballistic missiles aka kill targets in space includin satellites.
S400 is meant against
Types of targets:
Strategic bombers such as the B-1, FB-111 and B-52H
Electronic warfare airplanes such as the EF-111A and EA-6
Reconnaissance airplanes such as the TR-1
Early-warning radar airplanes such as the E-3A and E-2C
Fighter airplanes such as the F-15, F-16, F-35[74] and F-22
Strategic cruise missiles such as the Tomahawk
Ballistic missiles (range up to 3,500 km[48]).

S400 can do job of both David sling and Arrow missile system.

Why don't you educate yourself about S400 before lecturing us on Arrow. 40N6 missile is comparable to Arrow missile and S400 is a multi layered defence system.

Indian BMD is not matured enough to compare with Israel or Russian systems. S400 procurement is a stopgap measure until it does.
