Russians smell blood on India’s Project (P)-75I

well, India doesn't have/has never built a conventional submarine indigenously/independently, much less matching western/Russian standard. So obviously India having two big threats in its neighborhood needs the best military equipment it can get. So i think Indian military officials are simply being realistic instead of indulging in empty pride which wont led the country anywhere. So its wise for them to go with Western(hmmm....and Russian) equipment/weapons in their military, since these two are top notch. India will need decades to get anywhere close to Western/Russian military tech. So i think its a realistic decision by the Indian Navy, this will be a big headache for Pakistan and to a lesser extent China.

Was hoping India could go for British sub designs, since we have one of the best submarine tech in the world outside the U.S. Though its true we are more focus on nuclear subs. which is sad, since we could build/offer very decent diesel electric subs for many developing countries.
I thought Great Britain only operated nuclear subs.
BTW would love to see the Vanguard class in Indian colours.Such a beauty.

Russians smell blood on India’s Project (P)-75I

While India is yet to formally issue Request for proposal (RFP) for the Project (P)-75I, under which Indian navy plans to acquire 6 modern Conventional Stealth submarines. Russian Rubin Design Bureau
who is responsible for Amur class Submarine design have briefed Russian media that they have completed technical flexibility of Integrating BrahMos missiles system and Air Independent Propulsion if desired by Indian Navy.

Chief designer at Rubin Design Bureau Mr. Igor Molchanov believes that Integrating BrahMos missiles system and Air Independent Propulsion (AIP) are expected to be two key requirements which Indian navy might request in RFP for P-75I.

Molchanov added that Integrating Submarine variant of BrahMos missiles system, which was first test-fired from an underwater pontoon off Visakhapatnam nearly two years ago will be natural choice for Indian Navy as it could add much needed offensive surface attack options for anti-ship as well as for land-attack roles .

BrahMos in vertical launch configuration is capable of being launched from submarine from a depth of 40-50 metres. The missile can be installed in a modular launcher vertically in the pressure hull of the submarine.

Molchanov also said that Russian designed Air Independent Propulsion (AIP) have been tested successfully on land and they are currently planning to carry out sea trials of the units, which they plan to complete by the end of 2016. He also pointed out that Rubin Design Bureau and DRDO are ready to explore cooperations in case Indian navy requested integration of Indian-designed AIP module.

Rubin Design Bureau and DRDO are independently developing liquid oxygen and hydrogen based fuel cell Air Independent Propulsion (AIP) systems which negate need for storing hydrogen and are very similar technically and both organisations have exchanged visits to each other facilities and have also identified common solutions if need arises for collaboration.

Taking a potshot at rival German camp who are also in the race to offer their latest HDW Submarines with AIP technology, Molchanov said that ThyssenKrupp developed air-independent propulsion (AIP) require use of hydrogen and liquid oxygen which needs to be stored on board and considers Russian and Indian system to be much safer and superior .

Molchanov standing by his previous statement, which was also reported by idrw.org in our previous report he again said that regardless of who is awarded contract for Project (P)-75I by India, at least one or ideally two submarines should be allowed to be built at OEM facilities and rest in India which will allow Indian engineers and Docks workers in job experience while working at OEM premises which can certainly avoid delays and similar fate which lead to Project (P)-75/ Scorpene missing delivery schedules due to lack of building expertise at MDL .
What happened to Russia dumping india for Pakistan??:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Anyway, screw the Russians, India doesn't need more delays and cost overruns..

I'm sick and tired of these Indians roaming around on every Pakistani forum pretending it is their home. These people have no morals and are bad influence everywhere. They are now scolding our Chinese friends. These Indians are brainwashed and overly obsessed rude people.

The only rude people all see on this forum is Pakistanis and their masters Chinese. Ever heard of give respect take respect? I guess not.

Pls make your own bloody subs, with indigenous designs、systems、materials、parts and components。

100% indigenous。

@mike2000 is back

Well sir, no doubt British Engineering is top notch, but the problem is they aren't participating.

I wish you all come up with a diesel cousin of Astute, we will be very happy to go for it.
If you all get your defence cuts aside and get all Astutes planned in the service, they will be most probably second only to the Seawolf.

Best wishes for your F35B :p:

really? what are your views on the following:

Next Big Future: Confirmation that China stole F35, F22 and B2 stealth bomber secrets as early as 2007

Confirmation that China stole F35, F22 and B2 stealth bomber secrets as early as 2007
airplanes, china, electronics, military, russia, technology, united states
Der Spiegel published a new tranche of documents provided to the German weekly magazine by the former U.S. National Security Agency contractor, Edward Snowden. The documents are the first public confirmation that Chinese hackers have been able to extrapolate top secret data on the F-35 Lightning II joint strike fighter jet. According to sources, the data breach already took place in 2007 at the prime subcontractor Lockheed Martin

The fifth generation F-35 Lightning II is the most advanced fighter jet currently in production in the world. Experts have long argued that the design of China’s newest stealth fighter, the J-31, as well as the Chengdu J-20 fighter jet, are in parts influenced by the F-35.

Chinese F-35 espionage effortsfocused on acquiring the radar design (the number and types of modules), detailed engine schematics (methods for cooling gases, leading and trailing edge treatments, and aft deck heating contour maps) among other things. 50 terabytes of data specific to the F-35 joint strike fighter program were stolen.

The Chinese hackers were also successful in obtaining data on the B-2 stealth bomber, the F-22 jet, space-based lasers, missile navigation and tracking systems, as well as nuclear submarine/anti-air missile designs.

Nextbigfuture has long agreed with the aviation experts who say that J31 copied the F35

China has also reverse engineered Russian plane technology

China has long been accused of industrial espionage and possibly reverse-engineered an old F-117 — shot down over Serbia in 1999 — to get them where they are in stealth technology today.

China Defense showed the similarities for the cockpit of the J20 and the F22.

The J15

The prototype J-20 is said to be using the Saturn AL-31 turbofan engine developed by the Russians for their Su-27 air superiority fighter.

China reverse engineered the Shenyang J-15 carrier-based fighter from the Russian Sukhoi Su-33 Flanker. China says the J-15 is more advanced than the Su-33. China used more advanced computers, avionics and radar in the J15. China probably used the US avionics and radar that was hacked and off the shelf computer and electronics that China has developed for commercial industry.

The Washington Times reported China would take until about 2022 to produce an original stealth engine for the J20 and J31.

The F-22 Raptor may be more agile but the J20 carries more fuel and weapons.

You cant make your own industry if you continously rely on imports .Indian Navy Knows that .There surface ships are almost indigenous.Subs are only weakneess. And they are investing on ut heavily .
We have our own SSN ,SSK projects.
