JF17 is and will be a light to medium air defence fighter while we need at least 24 to 36 heavy weight air superiority fighter to protect Gawader and to strike deep inside India.

Bro, the JF-17 cannot be compared to a long range heavy air superiority fighter. They are both different animals.

Specifically our naval requirements dictate a long range fighter that can fly fast from one destination to another. Remember that the JF-17 is a multi-role fighter in a medium package. It's strength is totally different from an air superiority fighter.

The Russians are clearly in the mood to improve relations with Pakistan. Pakistan also wants to improve its relations with Russia. Something good can happen when both sides are on friendly terms.

I agree with this notion. The US has made a clear choice and they don't hide it under a rug. The US will always favor India over Pakistan under any circumstances. That is just a given.

Pakistan needs to work on its relationship closer to home. Our interests dictate that we need to improve our relations with Russia on an urgent basis.

We need this type of jet but we should purchase from China not from Russia since their after sale service is very bad especially spares further during war time they may stop supply of spares.

And that is why they need us but now they are empowering ISIS in Afghanistan so that they took control and when time came they just airlift ISIS to somewhere else to capture needed ground in Afghanistan but this is a tricky business since Taliban are now a matured force they will not surrender without giving a hell response to US.

We still need 10 to 15 years to start home or possible joint production of 5th gen jet and in between to safeguard our interests we need at least one or two squadrons of heavy twin engine air superiority fighter jets.

In the short term a fighter like Su-35 is a much needed stop-gap. Even after a 5th gen platform is conceived and inducted a fighter like Su-35 can remain part of the fleet for a long time. Anyone who counts out the Su-35 is insane. Surely the Russians won't sit idle and continue to upgrade the Su-35 fighter. There has been talk of a stealthy Su-35.
