Russian jets in Syrian skies

People are victims of US media spin doctors:

- Damascus is HQ of Russian intelligence for Middle Eastern theater since 1950`s (large KGB residence)

- Russian and Soviet Navy is using Tartus harbor since 1971

So , images of Russian soldiers , claims that Russian specialists , intelligence are in Syria are TRUTH , but they are there for DECADES and that doesn`t amount to military intervention.

Even newer Russian weaponry seen is part Chemical deal , OK-ed by Obama administration , in exchange for WMD , Syrian army got some modern weaponry (like BTR-82).

All those Western media spins are bull.
Seems like someone doesn't understand anything.
There were only 4 military personnel in the Tartous port, and only a few dozen personnel manning the intelligence outposts in Syria. Otherwise nothing else.
Stop trying to justify Putin's invasion of Syria.

The Americans with their Arab allies initially funded ISIS to create grounds for their future intervention but it went out of hand if Russian manage to establish some ground it would be a major failure for the American allies and Arabs in entire conflict...

Ah another conspiracy theorist.
ISIS was never funded by anyone, US fought ISIS in Iraq when they were just ISI.

Syrian government is internationally legitimate , Russian planes, outposts , Tartous port in Syria with consent of legitimate government is not an invasion.

how's that fake news if there is videos out there showing Russian Army fighting the rebels? o_O

A millitairy transport plane with escort nothing more, ther are no russians with tanks or fighters in syria fighting. Russia will pull his fighters from syria, they can't handle second Ukrain.

Is such a move supposed to save Syria as a whole let alone the Al-Assad regime from falling apart eventually? Of course not. All it does is prolonging the suffering of the Syrian people. An already economically crippled Russia will lose more billions and more political goodwill in the region and in the West. For what exactly? A silly port in Tartus? Or some silly chivalry that the Russians have never been famous for adhering to in the first place?

It seems that the Russians have forgot their humiliating defeat in Afghanistan (which greatly helped in ending their empire) and their horrendous performance in Chechnya and wider Caucasus. A militancy which they are still unable to fully subdue despite all their military might and almost 2 decades of bloody conflict.

Now they want to fight in a completely different region, 1000's of km away from their homeland and in a region surrounded by political enemies and with the US being in control of the immediate region? Sounds really, really silly.

If Russia had any sense, she should have dumped the Al-Assad regime long ago and placed her bets elsewhere in the region. Plenty of suitors actually especially considering the inconsistent US policies in the MENA region.

Syria is a lost cause for the Al-Assad regime. The best that he can hope for is an tiny independent Alawi state centered around Latakia where his most vocal supporters are already based in.

It seems to me that the anti-Assad camp (whether the Western and regional one) has realized that Syria is a deathtrap. Something the pro-Assad camp is yet to realize it seems given their huge "investments" in Syria.

I believe the goal of the new operation is kill all Islamists. A LOT of collateral damage is expected. Syrian pilots are rather careful not hitting civilians. Russians won't be as careful. Idlib is probably gonna be wiped off the map when Russians start bombing it.

Distance between Sochi and Aleppo is 840 km, well within the striking range of Su-30.

Distance from Sochi to Aleppo | AER to ALP

The Crusaders are coming! The Crusaders are coming!

Not exactly. If they can kill every Islamist out there, be it thousands or millions or billions, Assad would win the war 8-) This is where Russian air strikes come into play.
