Russia-Ukraine War - News and Developments PART 2

How anyone thinks russia will come out of this winners and heroes needs their head examined. Biggest military miscalculation in living memory from the stalled 40 mile column of embarrassment to this. So called second best army in the world have been struggling for nearly a year to take this dump .....

Russia will be a 'victor' if Russia were to grab land east of the Dniper River and hold onto that. But on long term level, the folly of the Russian invasion will destroy Russia as a country as we have known for centuries. Russia will be reduced/rump 'Russia' in a mere few decades.

Then why not for the Russian to continue with the current offensive? If they have the manpower and equipment to mount another one?

It's not at all optimal to stop your current counter offensive and let your enemy catches their breath and reground and then re-do them again.....

You don't need to serve in the military to know that.....

They just occuppied Bakhmut, so I asume they will "enjoy" some time in that simbolism.

I give them one month for new offensive unless UAF starts their own and with that you have answer your question, both militaries at this moment are in cat and mouse play trying catching each other with pants down.

You had not answer my question.

You said they WILL continue their advance in a month, and you don't buy their lack of manpower and resource story. My question is, why stop now? Why not go for Kramatorsk and Sloviansk right after Bakhmut when the Ukrainian is "On the run". If they have the resource in a month, why not continue with their momentum and continue their attack?

In war, you don't wait for your enemy to launch their counter offensive because you loses momentum that way, and then you have to grind on like you did before. And what they did before is using 11 months to take a small city, it would be 2025 when they are going to start getting the grind on Kramatorsk and Sloviansk.

Again, setting all Operational Question aside. Because I won't be expecting those answer from you at all.

It was not only about seizing a small town; to the contrary, it was about crippling the best trained Ukrainian forces. To seize more towns and territories, one needs first to inflict heavy casualties on their opponents while minimizing the casualties suffered by their own forces. That is what happened in Bakhmut.

For you, you keep writing those big paragraphs. I think it is part of the coping that you all operatives of MIC were lately doing. Russians are on a roll here, budd.

How you cripple "the best well trained troop" when they were in the UK, Germany and Poland, well, "training" during the battle of Bakhmut......

I suppose they are little cautinos about counter offensive?
I can play your game to, if the russians are so depleted and inept for attack operations whats UAF doing?
sometimes you behave like UAF does not take any casualties and suffering consequences.
Fact remains to be changed is that russians are makimg gains evem simbolic, expemsivd and small ones while on the other side there is only stiff defence and big talk about offensive which is postponing since 3 months ago, for me it is fishy situation.

again, that why you would want to keep on the attack if you have troop to do so, because you don't give your enemy chance to counter attack........

Dude, this is not a game or movie, this is a war, you don't just stop and go see what the other side could offer before you move again. If your enemy want to counter attack, they would need an opening and by keep on pressing on your own side, you STOP that opening from happening.

On the other hand, I NEVER said Ukraine casualty is light in Bakhmut, in fact, I kept saying if I were in charge, I would let the Russian take bakhmut back in April as this goes against military sense to defence a degraded position, in all operational menu, once your defensive line is degraded, you move on to the next one. You don't hang around the old one.

In fact, I made a post 2 days ago and describe this as a "Wrong move"

Bakhmut was all but a symbolic target for both side. And weirdly both side don't care about the attrition on this. But what concern Russia is that Ukraine is hiding their best troop , As I reported back in April, 5 of their veteran brigade were not involved in Bakhmut. And they have withdrew another 4 during late April/May for R&R which mean they would be most likely fresh when they get influx from other fighter from other unit for the upcoming offensive coming in late May.

Problem is, would Russia have enough force to stop this? That remain to be seen, but I would say both side make a wrong move in Bakhmut, Ukraine could have saved up 10-15k manpower by not engaging, and Russia could have spare around 20k men for defence if they didn't grind on in Bakhmut, the only question now anyone should ask is, who made a bigger mistake?

That is why Wagner has announced that they will withdraw next week and lick its wounds. Some ”rolling”…

I do not know operational goals of russian army to answer in their name, i agree with you in general terms of exploiting success and it will happen only difference is dynamic of it, maybe they will shift focus on some other direction, anything can happen but russians wilp not stopp trying to advance.

Again, that's not what you said at all.

You said the Russia would launch an offensive in the Summer (which is in about 5 weeks time) and you don't buy they run out of men and materiel.

And again, my question is, if they had not run out, and can sustain another offensive, why stop the current one and launch another one in 5 to 6 weeks. You just don't do that, if you have enough man power for another imminent push, you would do it now, instead of in 5 or 6 weeks time.......

This is not a "Hey, let's see how we can make it harder than it already is" game we are playing. In war, unless you have some sort of need to make it hard, you usually don't do that...........
