If this pipeline does go from Karachi and Gwadar to Lahore and is coupled with the Iran Pipeline to Gwadar, or across Baluchistan to Multan, it could create the right commercial environment to seek a Chinese investor to extend the pipeline to China.

This would be especially true if the Iran nuclear deal comes back into effect, which may only last until another hardliners comes back into the White House, but at which point the pipeline would be operational.

At what cost? Imported panels with low output efficiency. Overall lifecycle cost and carbon footprint. Atleast right now in US, average kWh Cost to consumer is more for solar and wind than gas.

Plus initial investment isn’t affordable for most Pakistanis.
May be in future, when solar panel efficiencies hit 50% and Pakistan is able to locally produce them.

I would be very skeptical of the locally produced panels. What is the decline in energy production after 5, 10, 15 years? What is the initial energy efficiency and their overall life cycle cost? Is there any warranty? Is it produce in Pakistan from A to Z or from imported parts. Well, established companies like LG are working to introduce new material technology to increase solar panel efficiency and make them economically comparable to other forms of power generation. The Economics of the Old generation panel just does not make sence.

Current and old generation solar panels are expensive on a per kWh basis. Night, Bad weather, dirt on the panel all reduce their efficency. Technology is evolving so quickly that scientists are working on a panel with 40% efficiency. So unless You are LG, Samsung, or some big players, who can rotate their older products quickly and give rebates, the average company will run out of business as soon as a bigger company launches a better more efficient product.

Solar panels compnies are trying hard to sell their panels here (US) in residential areas. They even provide financing, so no upfront cost. They offer to match my monthly panel payment with my average electric bill. Sound too good. Guess what panels lose power generation capacity every year, then there is maintenance issues, then weather and tension of loan ($20 to $30k) depending on a number of solar panels required to power whole house.

After crunching the numbers, I said No Thank you.

what? no.

a panel used to cost 35rs/watt, after covid affected the supply chain, it costs 50rs/watt. a 10 KW system costs around a million Rs (this includes cost of panel, inverter, wiring, metal frame etc.), with replacement warranty for 15 years, and a further 10 years warranty for repairs. \

anyone building a new house can easily afford half a million for a 6KW system (more than enough to run 3 ACs and a few fans entirely off-grid for 10 hours straight in summers).

Get an NOC for net metering from your local DISCO and you will be selling electricity to the grid in winters.

You will get a 100% return in at most 3 years.

Only possible when China n Russia agree to build it .it will be main pipeline through China to get oil from Iran n Middle East n Russia have opportunities to sale its oil n gas through this route. Hope it will feasible sone per suhaga (icing on the) if in future train route establishment it will create Eurussia conectivity and whole region will benefit from t
