River dam in Bangladesh

We got plenty of water resources enough to light up the entire country,why aren't we utilising it?Its a nice source of power.Its low cost and efficient.

Please discuss if its possible,why aren't we doing it,if its not possible,what are the reasons?

I'm thrilled to even think of these mighty rivers flowing through the heart of Bangladesh.

What BD could do is build " Run of the Mill " Hydro Projects which will provide all the Electricity your country needs. These type of hydro projects are cheaper to build as well.

Even for that you need a lot of river control and in the dry season there is not much water.

The water flow is restricted by India in dry season,that's the problem.
There should be some bottleneck hilly spots in Sylhet-Chittagong district which is suitable for dam.We don't need to simulate the pressure of niagra,just the right amount.
I know there are drawbacks but its worth it.

There is no clash with Mother nature as there are ways to protect the environment and yet have your Dams and Hydro Project, by blocking the water going to the Turbines through wire mesh and building " BY-PASS DUCTS " for the Fish. There are always solutions to each environmental issue and as long as you have the will to overcome obstacles there is no dearth of Solutions.

Some river dam projects are underway but couldnt implement due to noncooperation from Indian side.

Anyway what you are saying may be water diversion.

Water will not be evaporated,just the flow will be controlled so you get enough force to spin turbines.
If you're not aware,India already built multiple dams.
