I agree with you. Investment from China only presents an opportunity to become industrialized but it is still up to Pakistanis to seize that opportunity. You may still screw it up in the end no matter who invests.

How a religion is perceived is a manifestation of its people. Its funny when @darksider calls us yellow skinned (clear racial undertones, am i supposed to feel hurt?) and doesn't want to see Chinese in his country, we know how some individuals think very clearly, we are interested in your culture and people, we are just polite about it and want to think that despite this we can still cooperate. But that just fuels the issue on why China cannot be Islamic (core of my argument not bashing anything), you don't and will never view Chinese as truly muslim or truly acceptable to your people as if we were equal to Arabs even if we were all Muslim because at the core of Islam is Arabic culture, the centre of the Islamic world is Arabia, nothing wrong with it, it just goes to show you the influence and greatness of Arab culture. But China represents a separate civilisation and its people wants to be at the core of its own civilisation. Btw there is no doubt there is Arabization of Islam in recent years with the Burqa being promoted in China and funding from Saudi Arabia.

I do not condone Islam bashing. Nothing wrong with admiring another culture but refuse to become it and that refusal is not Islam bashing. Are you a China and Chinese hater because you refuse to accept our culture and replace your own? We don't think so. One cannot be blind to others's actions who share the same faith. It is always convenient to say "they are not Muslim" when you don't like their behaviour but who is to judge but Allah? Refusal to stare reality in its face is not healthy.

Chinese people have treated and will continue to treat muslim people (on an individual bases) like anyone else because we don't judge a person by their religion because we are not religiously focused people, please understand that. Here is an anecdote: In the central city of Kaifeng there was thousands of Safardic Jews in ancient times but they mostly disappeared, why? Because they didn't face any discrimination and mostly integrated into the Han ethnicity. Recent genetic testing shows many Chinese with trace genetics from the middle east. Foreign religions can survive in China but can only have concentrations in the peripheries in the long term.

History shows that any group that enters China eventually becomes Chinese and that is due to geography.

In addition we know about the religious wars in Europe, thats why China views religion in general with caution and doesn't want to get involved with that mess. To China no religion is exceptional because those religions are by products of another civilisation. Even traditional Chinese religions are not organized like Abrahamic religions, its very decentralised. A reason why Buddhism an outside religion was welcomed and transformed into a Chinese version is because Chinese welcomes spiritual teachings as long as it has ZERO political undertones from outside influence, one cannot convince the Chinese of their greatness through empty rhetoric, the Chinese look at action over talk. And this is not discriminating against foreign cultures or religions, just look at Falungong, a Chinese rooted modern religion thats a mix of many religions like Buddhism but its not welcomed in China because of its deep political undertones and eventual infiltration by the CIA.

I only made my rants because i noticed a trend within some Pakistani members talking in the forum on how it would be great if one day China became Muslim and an Islamic state and I don't want their feeling to be hurt in the future, so I'm facing them with reality. China is not an friend of Islam nor is it an enemy of Islam, China doesn't care about religion the same way the west or middle east does. We are not against you because of religion nor do we love you for your religion. We will love you for who you are a human being, not religion.

Not saying any of this with malice, I'm looking at China from a outside observer's perspective with you guys to gain a better understanding.

The reality is Pakistanis and Chinese are different but we have built up a solid geo strategic relationship

Racism, fear, hatred of the other is a human trait and neither Pakistanis or Chinese are immune

But the benefits of a close working relationship between both countries is incredibly important but we will have to learn to not step in each others toes and respect the right to the others views or beliefs even if they don't match our own
