Pukhtuns are in fact recognized as Drivers and I don't see anything wrong in this. After all they control the transportation route from Karachi to Peshawar. It helps the whole country in matters pertaining to communication and trade.

Laborers and watchmen are everywhere. Thats hard to single out

I talked about the "perception" in pakistan that pashtuns are jahil and backward people...in punjab and elsewhere they are recognized by certain professions...the fact is pashtuns are not lagging behind punjabis that much....FATA has literacy rate of 22% but literacy rate of KPK is 55% compared to 64% of punjab. This small difference is due to very low female literacy rates among pashtuns.
Pashtuns are the most alive people in pakistan politically. They are doing well in education, army, beurocracy, business, politics etc considering the fact that they have shifted their attention to these things recently compared to other communities of pakistan.
As for as afghans are concerned, they are recognized most hard working and persistant people in our areas...limitations and restrictions are on them otherwise they would easily dominate business in KPK.

Don't make up things, nobody call Pashtuns jahils in Punjab, infect general perception is that they are hardworking, For association with certain professions, you should thank your Afghan brothers as it's mostly them who are in these professions in Punjab and always introduce themselves as Pakistanis and for a Punjabi it's difficult to differentiate between Pakistani Pashtun and Afghans - Infect in Punjab common man even don't know that all Afghans are not Pashtuns.

But yes - There are jokes on Pashtuns in Punjab, but if you are aware of little bit about culture of Punjab than you should know that these jokes are not meant to offend and nobody is spared of these jokes, and people who have spent sometimes in Punjab know it very well.
