Pulwama - From Bluster to a Whimper

.
Disclosing source(s) is gonna make them stand with the same guys who released hassan's first video... Why tarnish or paint their career.

8 vs 6 locks scenarioand the professionalism of both airforces to follow protocol or norm even when under duress or war hysteria is itself a gud page or more writeup.
Its like a decade from now someone from x-iaf will decide to write an autobiography or a narrative on "from kargil to pulwama" and he will disclose the fall from grace for the iaf guys and their morale. Only then will u agree.

Avm shahid latif was and is the man of paf, he has paf in his blood and jf17 is the adopted child that he nurtured and helped to stand on its feet. Do you honestly believe he will not tow the line to glorify his child.

RAPTOR 2.png

Since H-4 has resemblance with raptor II, the pic on right shows, a second aircraft used for controlling and guiding the weapon with a link range of 200 km.

PAF could have chosen weapons of similar ranges, instead chose one weapon of 120 km range and another weapon of 50-60 km range.

There has been talk of a Raad-lite on this very forum
The talk would have been coz of Jf-17's inability to carry Ra'ad ALCM.
With the induction of a glide weapon of 100+ km range, an ALCM of 500 km range should be talked about, with Ra'ad ALCM staying in intermediate range of 300 km.

@Hodor

Another angle to analyze this F-16 'leak' and U-Turn is to wait for possible Block 70/72 deliveries or V upgrade. That would shed some light on the sudden U-turn.

one of the very well known & respected ex-Fighter pilot of PAF and author and researcher about PAF history
Can you post where Mister Kaiser Tufail said what is being claimed?

With the H4 we could at least argue we used a bomb albeit a rocket powered one. Using such a long range weapon (something akin to raptor iii) would have left no option for the Indians but to retaliate with a similar weapon such as the Brahmos

With Two SU-30s and Two Mirage-2000s on CAP, i always wondered why the much less capable and even vulnerable 'Bison' was sent to intercept the PAF formation, Sir Kaiser Tufail, however reveals the reason which was obtained through PAF monitoring and intercepting IAF Radio communications.

''One Su-30 possibly crashed or landed at Srinagar after being damaged. His wingman exited at supersonic speed to home base. The Mirages declared unserviceable radars and the controllers pulled them back. So everyone chickened out.
MiG scrambles was the only choice then.''
Sir, with due respect what the article claims don't add up. More over it negates what ever was claimed by ISPR after the strikes. Not to mention that this article directly apportion blame of falsifying actual facts by a very senior member of Pakistan Armed Forces who ironically is far superior in rank.

According to this article F-16's have shot down both targets i.e. SU30 and Mig21. Still this article does not tell where and how did the remaining SU30's and Mig21's escaped.

According to the article a pair of SU30's was patrolling with a pair of M2K's well inside IHK then which 2 aircraft breached Pakistani airspace? There was a pictures and a video shared on PDF which showed that a Su30 followed by a Mig21 was chased by Pakistani Aircraft (JF17). This video was also aired on Pakistani media and showed an aircraft falling in IHK where as Mig21 falling in Pakistani side of the border.

IF the claim in the video and this article are true then there are at-least 2 more aircraft that were shot down.

There is only one thing that is common in the Press briefings, media coverage and this article that is PAF is not telling the truth about what really happened as they want to cover-up something.

Did't u watch the video when Hassan landing and the cheering up?
Grow up kid.

I actually have seen one of the interviews where AM (r) Shahid Lateef clearly avoids the anchors question on which aircraft actually was involved in the shoot down. He seems unwilling to give out exact details or say to say F-16 were involved and thus just tells the anchor, lets just call them JF-17 ... clearly he is not disclosing everything here.
The first time I saw that interview, I knew PAF wanted to downplay the role of F-16s in the engagement.

What i make of it is that 200 km is link range between weapon and guiding-aircraft. Weapon's own range after release is 120 km.

As for Indians using Brahmos to retaliate, in a movie script yes, in reality no-way.

The reason you don’t use Ra’ad relates to nuclear miscommunication. If you fire a cruise or ballistic missile, the enemy doesn’t know if it’s nuclear armed or not and it will start a chain of events that will lead to a mutually assured destruction.
