Protect human rights in IHK: APDP

Srinagar, January 29 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Association of Parents of Disappeared Persons has urged the international human rights bodies to protect the human rights in Jammu and Kashmir. The members of Association during their sit-in protest at Partab Park in Srinagar told media men that the world should look into the continued human rights violations committed by Indian troops in the occupied territory.

“We appeal the international community, particularly the diplomatic missions in New Delhi to protect the human rights,” the members said.

Though the European Parliament adopted a resolution, expressing concern over the presence of nameless graves found at Uri area of Baramulla district last year and condemned the unabated enforced disappearances in the Kashmir Valley, the APDP feels the international community has not come up to the expectations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, they added.

The APDP members said “nothing substantial was done. Without investigating the issue, Indian paramilitary forces and police personnel refuted the reports, adding that the human rights activists who had located the nameless graves were being harassed, detained and attacked by the Indian troops and police personnel.

The families of victims of enforced disappearances have been craving for justice, the APDP members added.

You're right. It should be the duty of every Pakistani to let the world know whats happening to our Kashmiri brothers and sisters.
