PPP and MQM have shown themselves as untrustworthy. I think the government is lefg with no other choice. My only concern is that this is a race to the bottom where people of Sind will feel more marginalized thus increasing popularity support for PPP and MQM. I think this is a threat to national unity, and a job for ISI to bring this mafia down from within.

This is purely a business decision nothing to do with racism.

Look at the map of the world. Most of the international traffic passes over north of central Punjab. It makes sense Islamabad becomes the hub of PIA. It will make a lot of sense if Islamabad becomes an international transit airport of Pakistan. Keeping PIA hub in Karachi does not make any business sense when most of the potential revenue Pakistan can earn is through moving the hub to Islamabad.

Agreed. Or Multan or some other medium large or uocoming city. It is common practise in many countries to spread state owned enterprises around. Not only does this provide job opportunities to the locals but also reduces the burden on larger cities. Islamabad i fear is going to end up losing its green charm in the coming decades as more and more jobs move there.

I think a critical mass will need to be achieved before established instituition will move there.
