This report is not about new test ...it's talking about test that took place on last week of april ..which was hailed as successful ...by all.

The New Indian Express has made great discovery that it failed ....because they think so ...

all other who reported are idiots ....Only this journo who is reporting that too 3 weeks later is gyani ...

whats wrong with them??they claimed a series of SAM and Missile Tests as unsuccessful, which they rectified it later.now this.. :disagree:

While the target missile having a range of over 2,000-km was fired from a Naval ship off the Paradip coast,

wrong reporting.

It was a modified Dhanus that was launched from a ship mimicking a 2000 km ranged missile's trajectory.it doesn't have "Range" over 2000 km.Range of Dhanus is around 300 km.

Atleast we test our product and mature them. Already other country se tested blue print lekar kaam nahi karteo_O

Discussed in earlier thread. Test was not meant to destroy target but to test the interception which it did.

The article is saying something else:

"Sources at the test range told this paper that the warhead in the interceptor missile did not explode. “The interceptor did not directly hit the target missile. So it cannot be claimed that a ‘hit-to-kill’ took place during the mission unlike in earlier attempts involving AAD interceptor missile,” an official said, requesting anonymity."

“The infrared (IR) seeker in the interceptor could track the target, but we have not exploded the target. The target was not to be exploded.”

“The mission’s main objective was to track the target missile. We wanted to see the performance of the IR seeker. The warhead in the interceptor missile was not meant to be exploded in this mission. Since we did not fire the warhead, the debris did not fall.”

It also says "DRDO Chief Avinash Chander said the main objective was to track the target missile and see the performance of the infrared (IR) seeker in the interceptor. “These parameters were met as per the expectation,”

1) India’s ambitious mission on Sunday to intercept an “enemy” ballistic missile at a altitude of 120 km seems to have achieved only partial success.

2)“We have to work out the missed distance between the target missile and the interceptor. Based on that, the hit-to-kill would take place. We are not able to say right now whether the hit-to-kill took place.”

3) Yet another scientist said, “Whether the target missile was destroyed or not, I cannot say right now.”

When an interceptor fails to intercept, AND in light of the above it is blatantly obvious that the test failed.

An interceptors partial success = complete failure.

You guys can go blue in the face denying it, but this is what happened in reality!
