Bangladeshi Cricket fans threatened to be banned from supporting Foreign International Teams

DHAKA: The emotions of hatred and envy obsessed Bangladesh Cricket Board and their Hasina government when they banned their cricket lovers from supporting other international sides during T20 World Cup 2014, putting another black mark on the beleaguered govt and BCB against Bangladeshi true spirit.

According to the details, BCB (Bangladesh Cricket Board) has issued directives by imposing this unique ban that Bangladeshi cricket fans refrain from waving/carrying the flag of foreign international sides including Pakistan.

Bangladesh is hosting the ongoing T20 World Cup and their locals has been made clear with use of power that their support should be limited to Bangladeshi cricket team only.

The order came after an outcry over images of locals waving Pakistani flags during the recently concluded Asia Cup, also held in Bangladesh.

A Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) spokesman said the board had issued a directive after it “noticed that some local fans were flying foreign flags flouting the country’s flag rules”.

“We’ve received instruction in this regard,” the spokesman told AFP, without clarifying.

“As such we've ordered security officials and guards to make sure Bangladesh fans cannot carry or fly flags of foreign nations in the stadiums.”

The decision has been taken after Bengali audience supported Pakistan openly in their match against Aussies and India, and they were enchanting slogans in the favor of green shirts carrying Pakistani flags.


Bangladeshi fans were also seen supporting Pakistani side in their match against arch rival India, which fuelled their authorities with anger.

Bangladesh got independence from its former ruling state Pakistan. in 1971.

Pakistan and Bangladesh has to contest against each other on March 30 at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur.

Hasina's time is coming to an end. We know about her vicious, vindictive and jealous character. She has been living on her father's reputation for too long now. The lady has been caught out by CNN reporters and BBC reporters she is bringing embarrassment and shame to the country. Skies is right. this is just one speck of the venom Sheikh Hassina and the extremists around her hold. and BCB is a complete tool they are using. there is no justification for this. interesting is i raised this issue with a thread fews days back. recent years some extreme BALers have really began to show discomfort at this reality of Bangladeshis' support for Pakistan. sure Pakistan technically is our cricket rival, but a special one, and so is Afghanistan now to some extent.

well it doesnt seems that way, its more likley that she will end up ruling Bangladesh for decades now unopposed.
reason isthat she doesnt care about protests , election results. army and international community fully supports her. so NO internal or external pressure of any kind.
through constitution, she doesnt even have to step down to form interim govt.!

not likely, ICC belongs to india now. as soon as india wiggle her tail, ICC would become quiet. didnt you noticed ICC was quiet on prosecuting people on supporting other teams in india. so it will become quiet soon.

Pakistanis always supported Bangladeshis into making Bangladesh a cricketing power...it was because of Pakistan's support in ICC, to put a muslim country Bangladesh on world cricket map.

Infact it was Pak coaches, Pak administration officials, PCB, Pakistani cricketers who made initial setup and support for Bangladeshis, and so unthankful BCB and small minded govt is I cannot imagine.
