i m also pashtun but i dont want to emerge some of the areas of afghanistan to pakistan..its the common sense..Afghani's are so criminal that u can;t imagine..they aren't know the history of Pakistan that what we have done for it nd what we r doing for Pakistan. We have totally different social life..
so on the basis of only speaking Pashto we can;t do what u r saying..
living with Kabli's , i can speak Farsi like them but it doen't mean that i m now Kabli

4 god sake what are you trying to say BILL LONGLEY....people in afghanistan are fierce and soverign that is the problem with WHITE WESTERN people...they look at geographics not demographics....i mean you can just tell them hey boys from tmorrow you guys are PAKTHUNISTAN...and they would thank you for it....no sir!!!!!!... afghans were never occupied and can't ever be occupied...or made to go against there will..if they wanted to join pakistan they would have in 1997-1999....when taliban were friendly towards its easternly neighbour!!!!

um i think if u ever talked to an afghan they consider pashtuns afghans they dont differentiate between pakistani and afghan pashtoons and i think its great because its will help in stabilising relations between the two countries also taliban i dont consider as representing pashtuns theyre Islamist whereas as traditionally pashtoonwali is a very secular ideology where even women have been our leaders. i think that the best thing to do would be to improve relations and so make it easier to for pashtoons on both sides

even though i dont believe in seperatist movements, i believe we should split Afghanistan....let the western portions go to Iran/Tajiks and give us the eastern region.

No more issue of Durrand Line.

I love Afghan...but just come visit me in Peshawar sometime and I will show u the attitudes of some of these guys. They act like they are doing us a favour by being in our country.

i think pakistan should actively work for pashtunistsn...about 26 million pashtuns live in pakistan and 11 million in afghanistan.... due to numerical superiority of pashtuns in pakistan its pakistans right to enter pashtun areas of afghanistan into pakistan....it will end miseries and poverty of pashtuns..... as a pashtun i feel our future only lies with future of pakistan and we pakistani pashtuns must convince our relitives to join our federation for future of our generations

By the same logic there are more Kashmiris in India, therefore *** should be incorporated into India. If you change the above sentence into Kashmiris and India instead of pashtuns and Pakistan and change some numbers around, would the above comment make more sense. Hmmmm!!!

live and let live.. i really respect afghanis. these ppl used to come for our help (pre partition) wheneva we needed them. but after wat they have done to us post afghan war, i really doubt if i should respect them anymore or not

The problems I see about this and also appears in many posts ids the concepts of ethnicity and religion defining borders of sorts.
Many of these ideas were valid and occurred many blue moons ago. The world change, end of colonialism, world wars etc, in this regard and now we have a world wide a new set of borders rightly or wrongly defined.

One of the most important ting we as a world need to understand is that you may be of XYZ ethnic background but that is second to your national heritage. Nationality is now foremost not ethnicity.
Hence bluntly pashtuns in Afghanistan are Afghani, pashtuns in Pakistan are Pakistani. Notice nationality is foremost.

Roadrunner made a sound point and one that should be seriously considered for the Afghan/Pakistan bored and one I have constantly pushed in these forums.

Religion is a delicate issue and tends to be seen emotionally not factual in determining a nation.
Nations should by construct be secular. This does not detract form a national religion but also allows for other religions to operate within it borders. To define a nation on religious grounds clearly demands that all must be of that religion. Such an approach defeats the general right of others to have their own religious belief or none at all.

On a side note many nations do not have a national language; language is possible more binding of people than ethnic issues and religion. Not having a national language helps splinter communities into ethnic groupings easily.

Right, but then what happens when Afghanistan finds peace and properity? They move back. So the figures you're giving are artificial at the moment.

Personally, I think the Tajik areas of Afghanistan shouldn't be a part of Afghanistan.

and yea we have 26 million pashtuns and afghan pashtuns prefer pakistan for economic and security reason to live

so its better all the pashtun belt join pakistan...in that way they will have better future
