Paris Hilton opens store in holy city of Mecca

if it is on pdf, Indians have very valid things to say about it. Even bangladeshis can say something. :)

why pdf is own and operated by indians??? you are still out of place with nothing valid to say about Muslim Holy sites.

Why are hindus allowed to work in Saudi Arabia and no one object to it?

Regardless of who owns it, saudi royal family who approved such shop in the middle of the Holy city. And there was not a single protest even in newspaper about it? That goes to show how good custodians saudi royals are for two of the Holiest site of Islam??

1- "Mecca mall" is not in the middle of Mecca

2- Mecca is a city of more than 5 million residents who live and work there like any other city on this planet don't you think they want to spend their money and buy goods like normal people do around the world ?, this city is not just for prayer and hajj.

3- There are thousands and thousands of stores in Makkah that also sell handbags and accessories why are you mad about this one ?

Being Gay is not Crime... If being Gay is crime then God is criminal. He shouldn't have made human Gay...

well what about all the mentals, those who are born with physical defects, the transgenders etc

indeed god is criminal

They are allowed to work in other cities, Hindus and Christians all non Muslims are not allowed to even go to two holy cities makkah and madinah.

Increasing drive to commercialize these Holy cities is the reservation about. This is not the first instance, there was 40-60 story hotels built close to the Holy Kabba. And that begs the question for luxury or for pryer? No rational can defend such intrusive saudi commercial interest. Yes, million people live there but these two cities and surroundings are special and should have special code and conduct that goes with Islamic values and true teachings. There are increasing proof that saudi royals are destroying those code and some saudis choose to openly support such acts. Saudis should feel lucky that they are having responsibility to take care of these Holy places but instead they are commercializing the cities like any other. That is simply outrageous.

They can with special permission, your company have to prove they have no other alternative.

In second case, you just have to be paper Muslim...

Any such code would invite label of backwardness!

There are about 3 million pilgrims visit Mecca each year where can they live without these hotels ? the streets ? also the big hotels and mecca clock tower are all "Waqf" which mean no one can profit from them, all the income are used in Masjid al haram construction and Maintenance this decision are made by King Abdullah.

So you suggest we deport every Human that live in Mecca and make it a city for hajj only ?!

I'm afraid this is human nature and you can't change that, trading and merchandising are part of human nature plus Mecca is a famous city of merchandisers throw out the history of the Arabian Peninsula and the time of the prophet PBUH it was connecting the outside world to the Arabian Peninsula and we can't change that.

Carrying a paris hilton purse is trashy. Simply proves money doesnt buy class.

If Saudis cannot think of living anywhere but 60 story 5 star hotel chain then that is a sure limitation in thinking. There are other form of decent living exists in the world. "Waqf" or not is not even the issue.

Again living with special code of conduct with values and aspiration of Islam is not an impossible living condition. Are you suggesting that is the case and Saudis subscribe to such notion? That would be most unfortunate. Again if anyone thinking that way would be a limitation in their thinking.

Trading and connecting with outside world has many different forms and ways. Scale of commercialization and highlighting of material world goes on in these cities are way beyond normal level and even surpass many western show.
