What's new

Pakistani Talibans set up base in syria

It really doesn't but practically, Iran didn't buy it which is all what is needed (; ..

They were probably saving face.

After alienating nearly everyone to one extent or other and staking all of their political currency on being the lightening rod of Islamic radicalism, they did not have the flexibility of acknowledging the hate that they get in return from fellow Muslim countries.

What would Mullahs have told to a Iranian.

"Dude, We acted like an absolute jackass for past 40 years and pissed off everyone even when we have no direct conflict with them and what we get in return for all those glorious cartographic comment is cutting off the head of snake remark"

It would have been an admission of policy failure by the regime.

I'm just telling you that you're country didn't buy the story, similarly, Iran denied the assassination attempt of the Saudi Ambassador in DC.

The bottom line is the bottom line, KSA vetoed against the sanctions in 2008, wether you like it or not.
BTW,only P-5 countries can "VETO".:pissed:

Saudi Arabia was not a member of security council when the issue came up for voting in security council.

Saudi Arabia has never been a member of Security council till date. ( it is slated to become one in 2014)

Yes, I guess you must have misunderstood my point, I was trying to say that we voted against it and all.

When?

Shameful comment. TTP is destroying your country, and you are wishing the same fate on another country too?

Why are you surprised ? Pakistanis have been doing this in Afghanistan since decades.

Well,

I guess you're right, I'm not ready yet to question the legitimacy of the Wikileaks cables. Since day one of the Iranian revolution, we have had aplenty of tensions with them. It's worth mentioning that KSA did show some sort of a goodwill toward the Republic of Iran by opening up the whole Islamic shrines to the Shia people. Khomini himself thanked KSA for that, however, tensions had been escalated since 1980 till this day. The Iranian regime has an ambition to become the center of Islam, and had been fueled by Persian-master-race Supremacy, so to speak.

As for being Islamic, Generally speaking, KSA doesn't consider Iran to be an Islamic country whatsoever. It's not about being racist or Takfiri, but they don't match the common standards of being a Muslim state due to wide variety of disagreements. Similarly, Iran happens to have a probelm with the Sunni religious establishments all around the world, and KSA in particular. So, the whole issue comes on two levels, firstly it's about race, Arabians vs Iranians, secondly, ideological disputes.

They were probably saving face.

I'm not quite sure about slaughtering the Alawites though, as I have seen many of them fighting within the FSA, they've also done a great job in the MSM - In Arabic -

The Russians gave up their allies when they needed them the most. If you go back to history and examine every relation the Russians have had with their allies, you will understand why North Korea is what it is now.

What do you mean by ammo and fuel? Are you serious? A war takes too much out of this. It's not about a sniper or a pilot, it's a whole doctrine of a combat.

What i mean is ammunition and fuel are main burden of war economy.Others are manpower and minimal food resources.
Russia gives high quality ammo, iran arty and small arms ammo[cheap],fuel is dirt cheap free as both are fuel leaders, iran also providing manpower. As for doctrine, hezbollah on assad side is battle hardened and better combat indoctrinated than FSA atm.So i don't see imminent collapse, unless russia backs away or west intervene in force. In long term it MAY happen.

.
Point taken. Even though I don't agree, but I respect your take. :smart:

One more thing that I would like to add if I may please, I don't believe that Hezbollah will consume its arsenal on Assad, they are saving them to the black day.

For Kollang

since when Russia had signed an alliance pact with Iran? Can you give me a proof if Iran was a Russia Allies. Unlike Vietnam and Syria, Russia from start never see Iran as their closest allies, even they consider Iran as a competitor for oil and gas export market. From start i was stated if Russia never abandoned her key allies, can you catch phrase my statement before?

1- Where were the Russians when the UN voted for a military intervention in Korea during the Korean War? Do you know that the USSR could have easily vetoed the intervention? Do you know that Stalin didn't supply the DPRK with most of the weapons the needed?

2- Why did the Soviet rejected Sadat's proposal to buy Aircrafts to build up their Air Force?

3- Why didn't the Soviet embrace political dialogue during the conflict that took place in the Sino-Russio boarders? Weren't the Soviet their GREAT ally? Why did the Soviet recommended launching an Airstrike against their nuclear facilities to their so-called sworn enemy " USA "?

4- Where were the Soviets when the North Korean children were starving to death in the early 90s?

5- Where were the Russians when Sadam Husien needed them the most during the Gulf war? Did you know that the Russians were bribed by some countries to block an arm sale to Iraq?

1. It is North Korean who starts the war against advise of Sovyet military advisor, why Sovyet doesn't Vetoed the UN resolutions? Days after the invasion, the United States secured approval in the U.N.'s Security Council for a resolution calling for the use of force to repel the communists. The Soviet Union could have vetoed the resolution, but its representatives were boycotting the Security Council because of the U.N. decision not to seat the communist government of the People's Republic of China. Just a few days after the Security Council resolution was passed, President Harry S. Truman ordered U.S. military forces into South Korea.

2. Sovyet has see the incompetency of Egypt Air Force during Six days War and the following war, but yet Sovyet did give and transfer their fighter and bomber to Egypt Air Force. And can you see their Mig 21 which keep flying till this day? You must be blind not to see their tupolev Tu 16 bomber and other military hardware for their Airforces till yet.

3. China and Sovyet had a great rift during middle of 60's, even before. They had clashes about ideological based theory, if Sovyet is based of industrial worker class, the Communism in Chinese is based on Peasant class, and they had a different idea how communist world is should worked. Their clashes is so resounding even further and reach Indonesia Communist Party. And for Your Information, Sovyet and China always backed the different communist state which had different idea, China backed Cambodia Pol Pot regime, meanwhile Sovyet backed Ho Chi Minh Vietnam Communist state. And their great rift accumulate in Sino Vietnam War, because beforehand Cambodia was invaded by Vietnam People Army. And any air strike against US based nuclear facilities will result in Nuclear War, have you heard about Nuclear triad? Only fool peoples who dares to strike against US nuclear facility at all

4. Hey do you have radio or TV in your homes (i guess Arab Saudi never let their people watch other country news channel then, i pity you), never you heard the Collapses of Sovyet Union in 1991, they economic hardship in 1990 decades, thay had in brink of Civil war during those days, they had go to war against so many rebel in Chechen, Dagestan, Kaukasus, they had lost control of so many territories during those chaotic periode. Let alone North Korea, the Russian on those days must borrow a lot of money from so many Capitalist country (which they despised before) and IMF to buy food for their peoples, and thanks to China who keep buying the Russian weapons at fantastic amount so the Russian can keep their industry and economy working.

5. Never see so many hypocrysi regarding Saddam and his Foreign policy while ruling Irak. Baghdad's interest in cooperation with Moscow "was based on the need for a powerful patron in its efforts to shed all the remnants of Western colonialism and to establish Iraq as an autonomous member of the world order of nation states." At the same time, however, the Iraqi "ruling elite had shown stubborn resistance towards anything which could be regarded as an intrusion into the country's internal affairs or as an infringement upon Iraq's sovereignty over its international policies."

The Soviet Union was critical of Saddam Hussein's 2 August 1990 invasion and occupation of Kuwait, and supported a United Nations resolution authorizing the use of military force, if necessary, to enforce an arms embargo against Iraq. But the Soviet Union's military support for Hussein also drew substantial criticism from the United States and other Western countries. In Washington, D.C., the Heritage Foundation foreign policy experts Jay P. Kosminsky and Michael Johns wrote on 30 August 1990 that, "While condemning the Iraqi invasion, Gorbachev continues to assist Saddam militarily. By Moscow's own admission, in an 22 August official press conference with Red Army Colonel Valentin Ogurtsov, 193 Soviet military advisors still are training and assisting Iraq's one million-man armed forces. Privately, Pentagon sources say that between 3,000 and 4,000 Soviet military advisors may be in Iraq." So, Sovyet never abandon and let his allies dies even it is his allies who commit the great sin and error.
