Pakistan should replace F-16 with F-35 ?

We can get F-35, but we cant afford its toooo expensive.
Second, F-35 is in development phase, testing n delivery phase is far away.....F-35 manufacturing partners will recruit it first.........so no intrested country including India cant get it b4 2025.

Those J-10B's are a more feasible replacement option for those aging F-16's the F-35 is a very costly and far-fetched opinion......

Sir whats the altitude, I think flying very high. F-35 can only come to Pakistan with US pilots. For defending country we need nutritious food, grass will not work. Anyways shocked by your thread



I think we need to look forward to J-10, J-11 or J-XX's etc and their coming blocks forget about F-35's

Times have changed we have a bomb, our biggest enemy is ourselves, we spend billions on defence and now after 63 years we are pretty well defended. It's time for us to start investing in our people as well as defence.

as for eating grass for a fifth gen fighter- no thanx.....

I ate grass , it was not bad but we can eat Tandoori chicken we don't need F35

Don't get discouraged , the post is great but reality is that we have no chance

F35 I doubt it , we have 75 billion trade deficit , and we can fly a plane that costs 1 billion to operate yearly

We do however need

a) Transport planes (40)
b) Helicopter platform (locally produced) (300)
c) High Altitude Air defence (500)
d) Missiles produced locally (BVR) (1000)

F35 is great plane but - its not going to serve our national interest - even if its given to us free

F-35 is not every thing - If we can get it then may be 3 planes in inventory in undisclosed locations would be great to have

We are better off to develop our own research and development programs rather then aim for the hardware -

Chinese tech is the way to go for Pak in future. Chinese will be more willing to share their latest tech compared to US.

J-XX is way way better option for Pak as it will be much cheaper than F-35!

Anyways, it would be good if Pak also tries to think of acquiring 5th gen aircraft as India is trying to get its hands on PAK-FA ... though its not sure when it will be possible but given the scenario in the next 10 years it will get its hands on atleast couple of PAK-FA.

su-35s????? you mean su-30mki??? if so don't you think getting long range SAM systems are an easier and cheaper option?

The F-35 is a great plane, there is no doubt about that. However U.S. planes tend to have a lot of political strings attached to them.
