I just thought that was a garbage post and made no sense....
Besides I think the Pakistanis are smarter than that to allow their country to become a Chinese colony...
I would really like to share your faith bro, but the Kashmir "Gift" by Ayub and also the Gilgit Baltistan situation + the keeness to "secure" Gwadar etc. leads to a different direction. The bend over speeches during the last visit also gives away a lot.
The thing is that the Pakistani Army knows that it is no legitimacy if there is no risk to the country. So they have to per-force create the risk and at the same time the hedge against it. Imagine if there was peace on the Pakistan - Afghanistan side and then also on the Indian side, who will be the only loser? Will it be Pakistani mainstream politicians? No. Will it be the elite? No so much. Will it be the Pakistani commonfolk? Certainly not. It will only be the Pakistani Army and their machinations because then the peace will lead them to redundancy and hence also to their claim of the saviours of Pakistan.
So to avoid that existential risk to their own institution, the Generals have since the onset used a bogey and created a hero. The actual entities in the game may be temporary but the whole concept is permanent. The villains change, and the heros change but the simple theory of renting out own country to "tell it" to the current villain never changes in the thinking of Pakistani Army which to some, gives the rise of the thinking of the hiramandi diplomacy theory. The mistress and her viles remain the same. Just that the suitor is the one that holds the maximum relevance in the present day for the mistress to be seen courting power.
What is unfortunate is that this urge of opportunistic political meddling of the Pakistani Army has not only put their own country on the precipice of jeopardy but also put in general the region and the other world at a risk.
That is why I believe that this greed of power will lead the Pakistani Army to not only rent their policies (they have already done that several times and there is history to prove that irrefutably) but also their country for their own continuing grasp of power in Pakistan.
What they forget in every iteration of this repetitive behaviour is that just like a mistress gets old and her charms diminish, the same is happening in case of Pakistan too. There has been diminishing reward for its idea of selling its loyalty to the highest bidder. Look at where they have arrived now. And in general the business and the political world knows very well the kind of cost that China pays for its political stooge nations. China's political forays in to Africa and earlier in Asia is testimonial to this fact. Further the Pakistanis also forget that China is not so susceptible to the appeal to its "machoism" compared to US. China is in fact in that department, more like India. They think more from their head then their heart and do not get swayed by the accolades dawned up on them. Pakistani Army needs to understand that China puts its money where its head is. Unlike the billions from the "ungrateful" USA who is too generous. And another thing to think about is that China is the last card with Pakistan today, and rest assured, this relationship will be negotiable. The only permanent interest of China in this relationship is not so much keeping India on its toes, but rather to protect its own situation in Xinxiang from the friendlies being trained in North Waziristan.
You got to read Mussharraff's 9/11 speech to get a better insight in to the Pakistani Army thinking. It comes out most honest only then because that was a moment when they were most scared. They did not just face the internal "thoo - thoo" like 71 but also the external gun pointed to the head which made the commaannnddooo get a little wet.
And I am sure that if you take the Pakistani Army's inclinations out of the equation then the Pakistani politics will be more tilted towards Turkey, towards Afghanistan, Japan, Korea, Australia, UK, US and also China. It will be pretty level headed situation. I am not even mentioning the trade improvement and peace with India here because that is going to really hurt some Arab/Farsi/Turkic/Martian genes on this forum.
What say you?
