Yeh baat kasy samjhain sir jee ??

Mi35 is an assault helicopter and considering the terrain on our western border and the insurgency problems we are facing there, an assault helicopter is what we need. ANY attack helicopter, Apache or Tiger wont do that job that these Mi35 attack choppers can and will do. We need to insert troops in difficult Pak-Afghan border terrain and getting there on foot or by land vehicle is LONG and time taking, not the mention the ambush risks.

These assault choppers will take 10 12 fully armed men, insert them into the hostile area near the terrorist activity areas and can stay there and fir power comparable to that of a Z-10 or a cobra or any other attack helicopter. Once the SSG men are done the same helicopter will be able to lift them back to home. WHAT ELSE DO ONE WANT?

So for God's sake. STOP SAYING THAT WE SHOULD HAVE GONE FOR MORE COBRA OR Z-10 OR APACHE OR TIGER OR X-Ship, they wont be able to do the job for which we are getting these Mi-35. ALSO remember that PAA is evaluating attack helicopters separately and that deal will be done separately. The 15 cobras are part of that, the 3 Z-10 that came as a gift and are under evaluation are a part of that deal. DO NOT MIX THESE TWO SEPARATE WAR MACHINES. Just because they fly and have a rotor do not mean the Z-10 and Mi25 are made for same job/role in combat.

As for the low numbers, yes that is a concern. The answer to that can be:
1- PAA want to evaluate the Russian supply chain and spare parts access
2- These four are for some particular force, like ANF or some border security force for afghan border. PAA is not getting them for SSG for now, if that is the case, i really hope they do get some 18 to 24 for SSG missions soon.

this isn't a landmark deal, 4 helos isn't going to make any difference or have any impact. The title is misleading.
the AH-1Z are going to make a difference not 4 MI-35

Where in title it is written that it is a land mark deal?

I agree Pakistan Army should have 20 MI-35 for SSG as for Vipers we should ask USA to give more and increase number to 20 and if we can get 40 WZ-10 it would be massive boost to us. MI-35 should be mainly used for counter insurgency

These attack helicopters will really aid us in our war on terror in the afpak border while its a huge advantage in the helicopter department perhaps the biggest is the relationship formed from the deal. We have got Russia to sell us weapons which will allow us to buy more weaponry and allow us to make future deals with Russia in the future. A huge thing this is and may it lead to greater defence corporation between the two nations.

Will be interesting to know the delivery time and associated weapon package with these Choppers. Probably PA is going to see this as a test case of after sale service, training + integration before we show seriousness in other items.
