Also probably be tailed by an Indian submarine; a good opportunity for the on board helicopter and towed array to do some ASW exercises.

Check quotes post.

Sounds like you're saying that PAF and PN are working on developing some sort independent Naval Air Arm capability for the navy.
I wouldn't be surprised, ever since the army has developed greater internal attack capacities, the Air Force has been able to develop greater concentrated capabilities, which came in handy in 2019.

Being a jack of all trades isn't necessarily a good thing in military terms, the Navy is enlarging, so is it primary adversary. Here comes a new coat of arms.

no sign of on board heli on the voyage ??

pn has 6 z9 and I think4 for asw role on f22p and two in sar/vip/transport role so additional four to six are at least needed for 054 and danish opv unless a less number of heli fleet will cover the ship which are deployed at sea only and not the one in port
Yes it's confirmed. Third generation CIWS, H/PJ-11 aka 1130 (12000 round/min; smart ammo)

Since only four 730 are there which should have some commonality as far as repair, parts etc is concerned because 4 different types of ciws

1130
730
Phalanx
Turkish 35 mm ciws

?? that’s too many types hoping 1130 and 730 can be considered similar type

Well in my Opinion in Ideal case scenario
(Speculative)

Short Term
1) We should 100% execute option for 2 Type054 100%
2) Try to get 2-4 Italian Ships
3) Exercise Options on OPV program 1 more
4) Pick up Used Chinese Corvettes (4)
5) 2 More Azmat

Long Term
The Jinnah Program will take 3-4 years to 5 years to start , it seems like good idea for TOT type setup long term

Pakistan Navy has surprised us all with the Program announcement till 2030 in past seems like they have done their homework

Why do we always ignore the budget required to maintain all that assets? By 2030, Pakistan Navy alone needed approx 5-6 BN just to maintain 10 - 14 Subs, Frigates and all that.. after 70 years, our total mil budget is $10B approx. With our current financial situation, I won't see that. We are in the same state for the past 15 years and keep going towards the -neg!

1130 is an improvement over 730 with 4 more gun barrels added. They are basically the same gun except 1130 has 11 barrels of 30mm gun, while 730 has 7 barrels of the same 30mm gun.

1130 and 730 are not the real names of the gun system. Netizens gave them the nicknames for the number of barrels and the 30mm munitions. Majority of parts are the same for both gun system, thus shall pose no problem in logistic and replacement parts.

CIWS 1130's official description is H/PJ-11, "730" is H/PJ-12.

What is an independent arm?
The US Marines are a fully independent command that all use Navy ships yet their ships are dedicated ones but the Navy operates them, At no point have the marines asked for a separate Navy arm.

On the other hand - there were/are now two dedicated squadrons whose task is purely to provide Naval support. Today the NHQ has dedicated staff officers from the PAF that coordinate everything from support to air defense. So why should there be a separate arm?

Hi,

US marines are placed under the US NAVY. They serve as the ground troops for the navy.

I hope the PN and PAF are forming an air arm that can at least cover the EEZ and a little beyond, with enough assets including fighters to prevent a blockade or cut the SLOCS, and can cover the ASW assets in the air, on the surface and under the waves; forming a “Bastion”.

Probably best to put it with the PN marines, so they can also cover the littoral and areas like the Indus delta, which maybe an axis of attack in a future war.

why's that interesting, the sailors need supplies, the ship started its life in china, thus the first port that it would have seen would have been a chinese one, therefore relying on chinese resupplies
