1/2. yes it is incredibly easy for pakistan to buy weapons from china. also just because theres somthing out there that pakistan has doesnt mean they have to get it. sure it makes sense. but what if they are waiting for somthing even better they have there eyes on like the pl-12d1-PAF has SD-10A, B version has been in testing since long, and it is obvious that PAF would want to go with the evolved SD-10.
2-Even the AIM120s have been superseeded by the C7 and AIM120D versions.....the problem is, you cannot go to USA to procure the latest missile, because of political reasons. However with the SD-10 missiles, you will always have access to them whenever they become ready.
3-Building on point 2 above, even if PAF manages to procure SABR (not Saber), the BLK60 spec F-16s will cost shyt tonnes of money, which means PAF will only be able to procure a squadron at best, meanwhile your old fleet will be not be standardized. If PAF chooses to upgrade the APG68 on the older F-16s, again, that will cost money and getting approval from congress would be an uphill task, considering that some crazy, fascist person will be the next president of USA.
Yes they are, after all, that's where the people who don the uniform come from........
3. dont you think pakistan can afford good radars if they are buying "more advanced" varients of the f16. aesa radars may be hard to get in terms of getting congressional aproval, but financailly i dont think it would be a problem.
also if your thinking donald trump is going to be the presidant, then boy you need help. the world would be chaos and there would have to be behind the scenes actions to ammend his moves.
