I agree, The PM's own AirBlue is making profits but PIA can't........I wonder why?

Its so easy,
Its a deliberate effort to make the upcoming deal a distressed one,

A loss-making inefficient entity will be sold at a lesser value than the actual price, Either Air BLue will buy it or someone who will fund the party in govt will get it for a lesser price,
Liabilities will be written off using Taxpayers money,

I am surprised that we have a corrupt ministry by the name of Privatisation & a minister to run it is none other than trash speaking & a liar Daniyal Aziz. Of course the attempt is to sell PIA to someone with in ganja league or to those who are well wishers of both corrupt pml-n & ppp.

PIA & Pak railways could had been revenue generator for Pakistan but because corrupt & incompetent run Pakistan then this is what you get continuous & non stop failures.

1. dont privitize and loss keep up piling(300 billion rupees -tive is PIA value today, it can go up to -tive 600 innext 5 years)
or
simply sell it for negative -100 billion(i doubt we can sell it in positive lol)

PIA assets are far larger that the little loss that is being talked about. Selling PIA is not an option a better way would be to down size it. The Air lines is too big and has too many destination on it flight path. plus instead of having direct flights they need to have indirect flights to get more passengers.

PIA is a strategic asset for Pakistan, and should not be sold, instead professional management be installed.
but unfortunately our present rulers will do anything to damage the State.

The PM can run his private airline successfully, but selling the national carrier is nothing but a scam.

I don't understand why are they selling PIA now because CPEC is going to be in full flow and PIA will receive twice as much traffic so why now when things will be getting good for PIA.

Similar to how Steeles mills was destroyed so that private entities may sell steel in local markets

It was a great airline back in the 60s/70s because they were pioneers, nowadays they are almost two decades behind the other industry leaders. Its sad to see how PIA will end up, but on the bright side at least this will finally give them a well earned break from the interference and destruction of the Nawaz and Zardari clans.

I disagree. We have rail services in the UK which have been re-nationalised and have actually reduced fares and run at a better profit than the privatised services.

PIA is failing only because it is deliberately designed to fail. It's a vessel for corruption. It's has 10 times more staff than it needs, these are all political appointments most of whom are ghost staff. It takes out loans and gets bail outs and that money is squandered too.

Under a PTI government PIA will be an asset.
