What's new

Pak goverment decided to extend LockDown Till 9th May: Asad Umer

Pakistan doesnt have an efficient govt, the cases are rising because as i have repeatedly said, there is actually no lockdown, no restriction on people's mobility, so the policy is not being implemented as it should have been.

regards
I saw a media show about 2 weeks ago where all 4 or 5 journalist were sitting at a table together, there was a news recently about government meeting where the pictures showed everyone sitting together, there was a conference from opposition talking about sugar issue and all of them were also sitting next to each other. That's the kind of physical distancing that you see in Pakistan.

if there was full lockdown when first case was reported in February then this pandemic would be controlled by now and we would be opening cities by now as 2 months have passed and are enough for any pandemic quarantine but we looked at short term benefits only and are now proving bad in long run

By short term benefits you mean Aurat March and PSL?

Wear masks, and allow everything. Don't need to lock down. Wearing masks are the only solution. This virus will comeback from somewhere even if it eradicated in Pakistan. So Pakistan better give spark to textile industries to make effective masks, subsidise them, make them reachable, and that's it. Wearing masks, is social distancing.

WHO only categorized this thing as a "pandemic" on March 11 (eventhough they should have done it earlier) and countries only started lockdown around after that week.

either we should completely lockdown for one month only or end lockdown completely, prolonged partial lock down is not good for any country, aurat march is curse on this nation and when this pandemic started liberal extremists were focusing on aurat march and gathering people which spread this virus when it was in early stage, same is case with psl as govt not had prioritized things properly and neglecting threat in early stage

but if government open everything up it will be the same economic pressure of aurat march and psl.

complete lockdown is not possible because of misunderstanding as to what exactly a lockdown is.

force of either kind will only aggravate the issue.

by start of May there will be much clearer picture to decide on the issue more calmly.

ramadan comes with its own routine and economy. it should be easier to enforce smart lockdowns.

the people have to contribute as duty as a citizen and as muslim.

Lockdowns won't work. No country can afford indefinite lockdown as this virus is not going away anytime soon unless a vaccine is developed. Our country is very poor we should just work, take precautions and pray to Allah to keep us safe.
