Formation lights. Helps make aircraft visible at night or in poor weather conditions.
What is the relation between these and the AESA? The F-16 Block 60s have them too. In fact, every 4th generation aircraft that receives an AESA upgrade gets these.

The VIS NVIS Aircraft Formation Lights allow pilots to spot position and attitude of other aircraft during military formation flights.

The Infra-Red (IR) and Visible (VIS) Formation lights have been designed for harsh environments and are qualified for operation on fighters and attack helicopters.
Two versions are available: IR and VIS.
