Comparing US tech vs Pakistani tech?

Next you'll be comparing NASA to Suparco.

Why not?? Sparaco started in the 60's.....Pakistan started working on drones a decade ago....way before Iran...

Laziness and corruption are to be blamed. You're free to point fingers at the budget or whatever though.

LMAO Budget is the largest consideration.

NASA Budget 22 Billion USD
Suparco Budget 31 Million USD

Find a need fill a need. Pakistan doesn't have a "research" industry fed by the universities and perpetual wars unlike the USA.

Pakistan doesn't have a research industry, period. Funds come from the public in the US, like anywhere else in the world.

But you can blame the politicians.

This is a good step towards better organisation, NASTP Kamra has a lot of infrastructure being built which will be very useful.

We just need good policy, and a clear roadmap towards actualising our set targets. Experienced experts should be heading these institutes rather than generals, we need a condutive environment for R&D growth, not restrictive and military-like. Those are two different domains.

afaik avrid was and is a joke so merging it with another joke of an organisation is going to be interesting

In what ways was it a joke? Lack of skilled manpower? Was it headed by inexperienced/unqualified individuals?

I have a little more hope in NASTP tbh, because they've put a little more focus into it and done more PR for it, seems like they want more across the board focus on it especially from the government

IMO the only real hope we have is them injecting serious growth funding into NESCOM's orgs, like AWC and others. They have the infrastructure and expertise to do something, so it'd make more sense to direct this money towards them. Fact that our actual powerhouses aren't factoring into NASTP et.al exposes how serious these initiatives are (just about as serious as ACM Mujahid Anwar Khan singing on TV). Honestly, I'd even have more faith in POF being at NASTP.

Look at the amount of funds they are sinking into it... huge infrastructure planned for NASTP Kamra though.

Maybe they'll redirect some individuals from NESCOM, SPD, orgs to kick-start it.

all of the above

Yes, theyre doing PR for it but what else? It doesn't seem to be much more than a glorified co-working space/office block being rented out lol maybe PAF venturing into real estate dev

I don't get any sense of their growth plan with these drawings. These are just buildings. Crowded private factories building products for export are much better than Big Fancy offices with no productivity. Pakistan state organisation's has a mindset of "Afsar Shahi" and "Pakki Naukri". You work or you don't work you cannot be fired. Such attributes built into our State enterprises are one of the reasons of their non-productivity.

Pakistan's productivity can only be improved by private sector OR partnerships with private sector. You give them projects (instead buying off the shelf solutions from outside), when you give them projects means you give them funds and you give them timelines.
