My friend, that sentiment is shared. We didn't attain independence from the British masters after making countless sacrifices, nor do we finance this country with our hard-earned money only to be ruled and oppressed by the Army, which was meant to safeguard us from precisely these circumstances.

And do you even comprehend the inherent absurdity in your assertion? You are suggesting that Imran Khan, who represents the overwhelming majority of Pakistanis, should capitulate and refrain from making political decisions that the Army, in its overreach, deems inappropriate?

If there is anyone who should "stand down" (as you put it), it is the army, as it is the Army that is exceeding its jurisdiction by unlawfully and unconstitutionally meddling in the political domain. Their place is within the barracks. It is the responsibility of civilians to govern the country according to their own discretion and judgment.

Pakistan official gives Khan 24 hours to hand over riot suspects

A Pakistani official has accused former Prime Minister Imran Khan of sheltering aides and supporters wanted over attacks on the army following his arrest last week, and warned he had 24 hours to hand them over.

“We have intelligence that some 30 to 40 terrorists who were involved in attacking our army’s buildings and installations are hiding at Zaman Park,” Punjab province’s information minister Amir Mir told reporters on Wednesday, referring to the upmarket Lahore neighbourhood where Khan lives.

“We are giving an ultimatum that these terrorists should be turned over to the police, or else there will be action,” he told a news conference in the city.

Mir said Khan had 24 hours to surrender the suspects, and that a police operation would be launched if he did not comply.

These guys are the biggest enemy of Pak Army.
Their arrogance causes average civilian to lose all support they had for Army and soldiers.
It is really the average soldier who suffers in all this. They have to fight Pakistan’s enemies while getting cursed by Pakistani civilians because of the bad rep their arrogant seniors give to the army.

I advocate peace but if the same people constantly threaten civilians and are the cause of many illegal abductions then maybe that’s the only time I’d support mob lynchings.
If civilians teach a few of these thugs a lesson and smash their arrogance maybe we might see fewer illegal abductions.

This caught my eye. If the report is true, it sounds like the classic pretext for an operation. Not good because in the course of these raids, people tend to be ‘shot while resisting arrest’, while ‘a cache of illegal armaments and explosives’ are recovered from the site.

We shall see.
